yep, if you can find it there is lemon scented Clorox. Buy it all the time because it's the "no splash" kind (thicker). Don't "suffer" too much riding the bike

I must admit that your dill is way ahead of mine here Doc...it's keepin pace with the pickels, prolly the end of july....neighbors might need some extra pickels cause they didn't germinate that great.
Our stuff is lookin good..bushels of everything pretty much.

I love a clean enviornment for the hens....my 7 year old hens have never been wormed...they are moving slower then young women, however healthy otherwise. Just sayin.

Me and Suzie spent another full morning in the gardens....more to do but, the take abreak is in sight.

Swai is best on friday bl4....tff just ain't right...we've eaten quite a bit of that....squeeze the water out before you batter if deep frying...just sayin.

I am also in for a break BigZ...rewatered the animals earlier and decided I needed to come in and sit a bit! Made some eggs and had a coke while I was in here. We dont have air but because I have been running the house fan at night (and the nights have been cool) and closing up during the day the house is very comfortable. Well, as long as you are surfing or watching TV that is! Start moving around and you get hot quick...maybe I will take a nap...LOL!

MLH was over this morning and we went for a horse back ride. Nice ans slow, I dont even think we hit a trot at all! Didnt ant to get the horses too worked up in the heat. THe breeze was excellent and we discovered a new trail. Didnt even seem like we were in WI!
Nobody here for supper tonight except me so I guess I will have popcorn! My FAV! Then when the girls get back from softball we have to take a car to the train station so DH can get home tomorrow. I have no idea how he thought we could come and pick him up at 12.30...I think I will stop in at the "Trainers CLoset" and see if I can get a new browband for Commander. His is too tight!

OK--really sleepy...maybe just 20 minutes of naptime will help? Then I need to go out to the garden and put on the sprinkler. It should be in the shade by now.

Boy, can chickens get cranky in the heat!!! My one hen I call Fricassee has took to sleeping in the nest box so she doesn't have to roost with everybody else. She's not broody or sick because she is out and about otherwise, just cranky!

anybody tries to stick their beaks into the outside water bowl beside her?

She lets them have it! She even smacked me when I tried to check under her for eggs this morning! Just my luck. Four chickens and I get one that gets PMS every time she gets hot

Boy did she throw a fit when I dusted her this morning, but the revenge was fun

SO the cat hasn't come back yet after being let outside last night.

We have been calling for him all day. Hopefully he gets hungry and comes home. DD went scouting through the woods for a carcass but didn't see one.

Kristi-I read about the same fly bait poison. The only way I'd use it is if I put it into the garbage can. That way the only critters getting in would be the coons and they could die there too!

My RIR has become really fussy. Every time I walk close to the coop or heaven forbid, inside the coop, she whines at me rather loudly! I am starting to see proof of nesting, but still no eggs.

Packing for the soccer games is going well. I have put together a medical kit for the girls. Also, I bought a new cooler. It holds 60qts and has wheels!

I've been really tired lately and haven't done as much as I had planned. At least the house is clean, but I need to do some small loads of laundry before packing up the clothes. We finally got the schedule for all of the games and the field location.

I hope the clean up efforts are going well for all of you up north!

Hi All!!
Miss me??? I missed you!!!

Critters are all hot hot hot!! The chickens are not to happy and the rabbits are hot and miserable. I've been misting them to keep them cool. I have the frozen bottles all set for tomorrow. They will need it. I sure wish we'd get rain down here.
Watered the garden and pulled like 5 weeds....To hot to pull more....

Rode with TO today and we took it easy. Brody trotted just a schmidge trying to keep up with Senior Long Legs (aka Commander). I also got a chance to ride in my saddle and I loved it!
Brody was a doll for the most part he did have a minor temper tantrum though that was to funny.

Other then that, I'm just taking it easy.

I did however, manage to get in a new flower bed. I started it Monday and finished it yesterday. I forgot to take some before pics so you will need to use your imagination on the weed-age before I tore it out and put in the flowers. I planted some sea thrift, some type of buttons, Autumn Moon hosta, an Endless Summer hydragenea, columbines, and some blanket flowers.
So here it the new bed:


The grass/weeds in the front will go away when it rains someday...

Elaine mentioned that Shopko had trees on sale so I picked up a Montmorency (sp) cherry and a dwarf apple of a green color, Can't remember the name but it's not a Granny Smith! LOL!
I then went to Blains and they had their plants half off and I picked up 3 black choke cherrie trees/shrubs/bushes. So now I have to figure out where I want to put them. I also am thinking of picking up two apricot trees if Blains still has them.

Anyway, that is what I've been doing!

Anyone else have a little snake catcher? This is her favorite thing to bring me. The last one was well over 2 feet long. This one is tiny in comparison. Don't mind the grass on the floor. She has a little dirt/grass bed that she sleeps in (she's only a little bit spoiled) and obviously I haven't swept the floor in the last couple of days.

I love my goats, but they're p!ssing me off. The little shmitts keep going in the coop and eating all the chicken feed!!! I wondered why they were starting to look a little thick in the middle. Problem is, they are free to roam, and so are the chickens during the day. If I close the door to the run, the chickens can't free range. If I leave it open,the eff!ng goats are in there eating the feed. Stupid things!!!!!

Just because I know of no other people to appreciate chicken pictures... my son took my camera today without asking ( 5 year old stinker) and this is his second time doing this... but we are seeing he needs his own camera and class geared to little people because he actually has an eye... there are some cool ones but thought we would show off two silkie pics...

oh and these are the new chicks. Dad was a cuckoo marans and moms were either marans, dominique(thinking the blacker one) or black sex link. Either way they are cute... oh and both were standard sized eggs but the blue baby is smaller than the black one and is 2 days older. Still working on names... my son really wants another Pirate (BF4M has our old pirate) but I dont know a good name, preferably girly to go with it. Otherwise might be Phineas and Ferb. Momma BO is Eggie. ( We have a star wars brood, princess and super heros and a bumblebee from transformers... I let the kids name them!)
