Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

I am all caught up on reading.. My puter was out of commission all day yesterday.. I had my grandsonfix it for me late last night, but then I was too tired to even read..

we could use a few drops of the wet stuff here, too.. surprising how dry it got after all that flooding..

I got 3/4 of the row of potatoes hilled.. Annie wants to pull the weeds before I do the rest of the row.. I would like to modify the wings on my Troy Tiller Hiller attachment. It does an OK job, but I have to work too hard to make it work.. I have to follow up with a rake and pull the dirt up around the plants.. Not a difficult job, but I think it could be corrected with a different wing profile..

I finished mowing the hay down around the garden.. then something began to squeak and squeal under the mower deck.. I quit before I wrecked another $45.oo pulley.. I thought I had the tire fixed, but it still looses a lot of air in just one day.. I suspect it is leaking out through the rubber.. Time for a tube..

I picked up 600 pounds of layer mash today from F&F,, (Mills Fleet and Farm)

the puppies are about half the size of their mother.. getting more adventurous and naughty.. caught them having a tug of war with a chicken.. up to now, they had been ignoring the chickens.

got a check for partial payment from the insurance company for the storm damage.. they were quite fair about it..

I'm sure there was more, but you know the drill.. I forget..

Well, I'm on a very old, very slow IBM ThinkPad !
hmm.png
At least I can type!

Loved the pics! Yes, the little crower should be entered somewhere!

Well, I read everything on the other computer but it took over an hour to get this thing going and it's way too slow to go back and re-read so forgive me for CRS!

Tomski... glad your back!

Jim... I feel for your computer issues!

FT... not that it matters but I was the one that asked about the horses name... Glad he has one!

I'm sure there was more but brain going bye-bye.

So far all the critters survived the heat... better freeze more water for them though. They said Tue. should be 97! That's without the heat index!

They also said for June our area only got about 1/100 th of an inch of rain! We are hurting here bad!

And what's that about a non drinking environment, Miss Fancy-dancy-winery-just-up-the-road?

Oh, I have really got to get to bed. I have had entirely too much sun & heat for one day. We met some of DHs band mates in Elkhorn at 10am for breakfast before heading on a bike ride on Hwy 11 heading for the Mississippi. We got to within an hour of getting there, but we decided to head northeast & wound up in New Glarus. Hi Kristi!

We took a tour of quite a few Cheesies towns today that I recognized the names of. Can't think of any except Edgerton right now, though.

Too much sun & heat! And didn't get home until after 5.

Glad to see Tom checked in, and Cind too. CRS here too, so sweet dreams, all!

Hey CC... when you go bye-bye on the bike do you bring a chair? If so how? Or does DH just carry your skinny little butt when you stop somewhere? I've often wondered but forget to ask.

Morning All! Too hot already to say good. Tomski if you need help thinning out those Brookies let me know. Their my fav! Stuff a lemon wedge in em wrap em in bacon wrap in tin foil and throw them on the grill.

Still have about 6' of weeding to do. The dill is going nuts think I'll be putting a lot more in the freezer very soon. Did a replant of dill and lettuce yesterday. Going to let the cilantro go to seed for next year. Found enough in the freezer to keep Laura in business this year. Cind hope you get your puter fixed. Jim you wear me out.

Sometimes I wish I was younger but most of the time NOT! The BFF called me bad names the other day. I told him about orange floats.

HELLO!

I survived the Dirty Girl! It was a ton of fun, and made me realize I am still very out of shape, I need to remember to drink water on hot days, and having asthma SUCKS when running in the heat!

Ok, that's all for now. Gotta fly.

Sounds like you had race hangover too. That part sucks!

Glad you got as dirty on the outside as your mind is on the inside

Yeah, Margaritas and dehydration do NOT mix..... I paid big time for not drinking much water that day. I realized the next day that I had not been sweating at all the day before.

Time to don that bikini and hit the beach again!

Quick question-its supossed to hit mid 90's all week. Has anyone lost chickens from this kind of heat? I felt so bad yesterday-the inside of the coop is slightly cooler and where they choose to hang out (cement wall barn). but wondering if there is anything else I can do for them besides plenty of water available?

hi all, I just got back from F&F .. I exchanged my expansion ring tools for a different set/mfgr.. the ones I bought the other day were defective.. the ones I got today are much better, don't need any tools to change out the heads and they were over $2.oo less expensive,,,,,AND they have a snap shut case to keep them in..

anyhow , five minutes after I got home, I had the snap ring off, tire in a tub of water and found the leak.. just a pin hole right in the middle of the tread.. easy fix,, after I go to F&F and buy a puncture repair kit.. I wish I got paid for mileage from my house to Fleet & Farm.. I live such a boring life, that is the only place I ever go.. On our anniversary, I let Annie ride along with me..

I hauled one barrel of water to the garden this AM.. Annie finished pulling the weeds in the last part of potatoes.. I started up the tiller and went 10 feet and it ran out of gas.. am I lucky or what ?

the bees were back in the tractor today.. I sprayed them good again.. eventually they will all be dead..

DrH,, am I to understand that it is not too late to plant dill ? how about Rosemary, Thyme and Basil? I have tons of room to plant, yet... It looks like we are going to have lots of cukes this year.. the peppers and tomatoes are going great guns .. Annie picked some Broccoli this AM..

we could see storm clouds just to the East of us about 10 AM.. could hear thunder.. nothing like rain reached us though.. I was surprised to see wet ground under the hay pile I used to mulch the peppers and Brussel Sprouts with today..

after while I am going to take the mower deck off and see what is making the squeaking sounds.. I am guessing I have a good wad of grass wound around one of the blades..

apeaking of Orange Floats.. we used to make 7-Up floats.. but that was back in the day of real sugar in pop.. IDK how it would be with the new sugarless stuff.. I still like a good root beer float after a workout in the heat.. actually just thinking of a workout is sufficient reason to make a float.. bbl,,,,,,,,,,,,,jiminwisc............
