Amy if you want, I have an inkling I will be headed down BigFams, way, I can meet you in Appleton for the swim dipes and save you postage.

I plan on calling the head of City Council tomorrow and asking for an extension on the 5 days and also asking if I can speak with the board about chickens and bantam ducks. Any suggestions on what questions they might have would be fantastic. I am great at doing presentations and would like to feed them as much information as possible... like coop licensing and smell control and number of birds etc.....I know the subject of vermin will crop up but I think with the number of bird feeders in town cause more of a rodent issue than the poultry themselves.... Any help all of you wonderful people can provide would be greatly appreciated.

It sure felt a lot better being outside today! Now if only we would get some rain. The weathermen had said we were supposed to get scattered showers yesterday & today. Yeah right. Liars. But they still got paid.

The grass is dead, the weeds are dying, the trees are losing their leaves........... Sure hope the well pump doesn't burn out from so much overuse.

Nothing new on the critter front. The chicks are now noticibly larger than Jack, but he is still mothering them as always. He never fails to stand over them diligently while they take their naps. Such a good boy! And he came through the heat like a trooper. I really kept a close eye on him, but he was busy showing the kids how to dig a hole and lay in it to beat the heat. My large birds looked worse than him, but they are all fine and enjoying the cooldown. Hope it sticks around.

So where has Frenchie been lately? Glad to see Ang is back.

I would not suggest a coop license.. the less regulations the better.. who ever heard of a coop license anyway ??

instead of getting all the bird feeders PO"d at you, enlist their support.. what's another species more or less to them ?

I liked the late afternoon rain.. it will not evaporate as quickly during the night..

I HAVE to get the mower deck back on the mower.. the grass is growing back with a vengence.

CC... know what you mean about the water and pump! We're on low ground but I still worry, the water table is so low and we're already seeing more rust in the water.

Chickens seem to be doing OK... I have one that has been hiding at night though. Have no clue where she's been going but she's recuperating from a dislocated leg so she can't walk far and I know she can't fly. Can't find her at night but she's around during the day.

Well, off to finish my "to dos"... Night all!
