Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

BigZ - I do put down a layer of shavings over the vinyl floor too. Have had it the same way in my other coop for 3 years now with no troubles so far. It makes coop clean out day go much easier and when I've had a waterer tip over it didn't soak into the plywood flooring. We extend the vinyl up the wall a couple of inches to help with any water issues.

Csie...great coop. Nice job. We are hoping to add more space this fall. I think dh realizes that after 3 years we are not getting bird and that dd is hooked. She wants more pets but he is not excited so we will milk Having chickens as her pet for a while.
MLH...can't wait to see the cluck store, it is actually less than ten minutes from our house. Kids want to visit it. Maybe they have mealworms since f&f doesn't carry them anymore. Having a hard time finding them,

Was out of it most of today with food poisoning...made for a roughy day with two six year olds and I am planning their bday party times two this weekend. Lots of work. Back at it

BigZ, you have no idea.... we have people living all over the edges of town who are township residents, but get all the perks of living in the city (plowed roads etc...) if you are ever here just drive around the edges of town and look for the Fire numbers. The house right next to the City Park is township, but across the street it is city. We have a big farm right next the school that is township, but the house in-between the school and the farm is city..... I can give you so many examples.

Tonight I had a little chit-chat with my neighbors. I have people out collecting signatures (something I did not want to do since people are really tired of having strangers knock on doors to sign petitions) and apparently people are not signing because they really do not care if we allow chickens or not. They do not care what their neighbor does. I wish everyone had that attitude.

Oh well.

I forgot to say NICE COOP!

Ghost, I hope you let us know how your doggie is doing.....

Does anyone know of any issues with a goat living with the chickens? Or do I have a LGG? He (Bob) has been following the chickens into the coop the last couple of nights and not going back to his hutch. The chickens dont care for him very much but it is kinda funny!

I haven't been on much of late with getting the kids ready to start school. I took the day off of work just to get all of the clothes, supplies, etc that they needed to start tomorrow! We have been so busy for the last few weeks with soccer, pageant, and all of the last minute dashes at pool parties, car washes, and picnics. YIKES!!!!

I swear that I collected eggs yesterday, getting only one, but today there were four eggs out there. I'm still waiting for Gertie to lay an egg!

I've got to get out one of these days and clean the cobwebs from inside and around the coop. They have really sprung up all of a sudden. While out there I should probably add more shavings to gear toward winter.

I haven't had a chance to catch up, so I'll move forward. I read a greeting for newbies...so welcome! Also I read some heartfelt concerns for animals...so I hope they are alright!

This is one pooped momma. The mad dash for school has tuckered me out!

Night all

Hey all long day straight from H_ _L................AGAIN
Well Bugs is at the vets they are keeping him over night to see if they can get him to eat and make him feel better, he started whining immediately after I closed the kennel door, and as I left he was starting is howly whoo call...poor old guy he hasn't been anywhere ever over night unless it was with us.......... he is one sad puppy I bet. So to add to the saga, another huge vet bill I'm sure, that I have no idea how I'm gonna pay...... then I ran to get hay, and had to ask my hay guy to add some power steering fluid to my truck because its leaking and I couldn't steer it.......... kinda like trying to turn a very large boulder........... would have been funny if it were not for my already bad mood !!!!!! because of my dog.
Then 5 30 rolls around and Adam calls me from an unrecognized number he is sitting along the HWY, to tell me the car is out of service, the spring broke and is rubbing on the tire, so I have to call insurance get a tow truck and an hour and half later he finally got home, long day for him as well.........!!! EEEEEHHHHGags I swear I'm cursed, I never believed in em but I swear to god I am, this has been the year straight from H LL, even by our usual bad luck standards. in 1 years time Adam lost his job, had to fight the crooks for his unemployment byut thankfully they caught in there lies, because I had Adam get all his paper the day he got canned..... so they have to pay and its another mark against them its even on our peper work from UI that they lied and withheld information. anyway, my X quit paying any chicld support, and hasn't worked in almost 1 1/2 years. nothing bum....... then the truck brakes go and 550 dollars later, the car needs new barrings 411 bucks later, the microwave dies, the dryer dies, now again the friggen car........... today I get a letter from SSD and they are taking my sons money away in Oct because he will be 18 in NOV, and will only go to school part time to get a job he only needs 4 credits and then he will graduate next spring...... I swear I'm gonna jump off a bridge if sosmething good doesn't happen around here pretty darn soon........... I am truely to the end of rope with this crap, 1 thing after another never ending.............................argggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggg:he :he :he
Ok done b.....itching now,,, hope everyone else here is doing well and havinga great day........ see ya ll tomorrow.......... Kim

Th goat will eat all the chicken feed And I mean ALL of it! They re compulsive eaters at times, can get bloat from it and die. Don't do it. The end. ;)

CC... LMAO.... You Me and FT trying to hike the woods and fields...

hummm... should we let her have her leg? She dose pretty good on that thing! Speaking of FT... anyone hear from her? Hope things are OK with her. What aspect of herbs are you interested in? Identifying? Uses? Formulas?
That would be a Kodak moment, that is for sure!

She can have her leg, but she better be sure to plug the darn thing in overnight. Don't think there are any battery chargers in the woods.

I sent her an e-mail a while back, but haven't gotten a response yet. I sure hope ET is doing ok. I'm hoping they are just busy getting their critter accomodations ready for winter.

As far as the herbs, I'm really interested in the uses/beneficial properties. A book that also had some good pics and maybe some "recipes" would be ideal, but I'm not holding my breath on one book being that thorough.

I hope your DH will be ok on his project for the day.

Sorry about your guineas.

BBP, I hope the squirrel will be ok. I don't know about releasing it at night, though?

Welcome to the Cheesehead thread, OneDirectioner & kkowa!

Hmmm......I thought this was a chicken thread, not a horse thread.

Very nice coop, Casie! Where did your DH get the parts for the auto coop door? Did he get any on Amazon, or did he get it all at work? You're going to have 16 chickens in there? You might want to get a bigger run. Just sayin'.
