Hey All! Sitting outside with a "coke" and my puter...nice breeze and not a cloud in the sky...AAHHHH! Actually I cannot believe that I am enjoying the yard and not working in it. DH asked if I did anything with the plums..."nope." With the pears? "Nope." I just pick a few and eat them myself....feeling like the Little Red Hen here I guess...Chickens provided a scruptious breakfast that we all enjoyed after unloading hay this morning.
Funny story: I woke up about 4 AM and went outside cause I thought I heard chickens alarming...so I am walking back to the house and I see someone lurching down the road. I decided to hang out and make sure that the person wasnt going to cause any trouble with the cars etc...a bit later said person is coming down my sidewalk. It is my son coming home from his friends' house. (I have on a white nightgown) He comes up the walk and gasps and says, "Geez Mom, I thought you were a ghost!" I asked it I scared him sober. After I got in bed I couldnt go to sleep because I was laughing so hard wishing that I had jumped out at him! (it is still making me laugh!)

So my DH's rooster is ailing (the one from you H&R) Here are pics. ANy ideas?




Sorry for the blur but I was holding him up and getting the pic with the other hand. He has a marble sized swelling under his beak. His eyes look better today. No foul odor like Coryza has and today he is eating. ANy ideas???

One more pic and I am done...I was getting eggs for my neighbor today and I found this one:


I am eating it tomorrow...gotta be a double yolker...never saw a blue one this big!

did he possibly get stung by a bee? have any antibotics that you could give him? best I can come up with...... hope this helps!

Sorry TO don't have an idea about your roo, but that was a dang funny story about your imbiber. I so wish you would have jumped out at him!

H&r...Glad you figured out I said cucs...my spellcheck auto corrects on me constantly. We actually had birthday party number one today and one tomorrow. I work Tuesday, wed and Thursday, but could come your way over a lunch hour perhaps as i am in fitchbrug. Otherwise I have kids in school Friday and could come our way.

Survived the first party and it was fun. My friend loaned me her kid sized bounce house for six kids so they had a blast. We are all worn out but one more party tomorrow and then the forty cupcakes for Tuesday and we are set. A lot of works for a weekend of fun. Ten kids today and a dozen tomorrow. Today was family and close friends. Tomorrow are school friends. We will survive. Nothing a good drink won't help with

cat got a bladder infection ??. still no excuse to pee on your clothes.. off with her head .. the last cat we had pee'd on my leg through the quilt on our bed.. she was gone the next day..must have ran away..

I talked Jordan into taking all of my quails,, 4 adults and 15 babies.. He had to do some diplomatic talking to his dad for permission..

I went to town, forgetting it is a holiday weekend.. no auto supply stores open,, one thump on the head for this old fart.. I visited F&F on the way home.. they have a temp guage, but I was not impressed with the face of it.. It was round, but had a square perimeter around it.. maybe the square part could be removed, the people in that dept were no help about that.. It did have a lighted face,, which I liked. they had a choke cable, but not the coated outside one.. just bare metal.. those like to freeze up in the winter,, at least my present one did..

I think I will take my Miller outside tonight.. no sense wasting this nice weather..

Spoiled the DH with his own crawdad boil. The kids are in the kitchen with a meat tenderizer breaking the claws apart. I think we caught about 20 crayfish, wish I could eat them.......

Those Vulturines are butt ugly! just what I need in my backyard!

Nothing else to report here. Hoping I can go visit my ducks tomorrow.

Evening All...was up to Antigo today for my grandaughters birthdays they are 14 and 11...wow how time flies by.

Yep that should be plenty of relish Doc...sure is nice not haven to buy stuff at the store...and it's so much better.

Picked some of the dry shell cranberry beans. looks like they are gonna be a great yielder! Picked another 5 gal pail of the slenderette green beans too. I love the harvest season.

Great pics...thanks for sharing. Never had a blue egg that big either, and the guineas look cool.

I agree bbp that the cat can be fixed....CC will chime in with good help, and I know the vet will recommend methigel...go to 1-800-petmeds type it in the search box and you will find more info....we have a cat that needs the meds, and a syringe without a needle works well to squezze in it's mouth....Your cat feels miserable right now being backed up right now....it gets better with the right remedy...good luck.

Yep, i would get a new seal to Jim....hate to have a pretty new tractor with a bad seal...think you be kicken yourself if that was the case. Do it right the first time...as long as it's apart.

Hard to believe that the summer is almost over....sure hope we have a nice long fall and short winter.
