Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

BigZ, I have 4 helpers not too far away who would LOVE to clean up your leaves for you........ ;)  It would be good for them.

Well, I never did get to watch Castle..... kids kept coming in and chit-chatting. I guess it gives me something to do tomorrow night.

Gave my Boss his gift today, he loved it! I told him my kids loved checking out the bottle, it is really cool to look at a glass skull.....

Trying to shoo the BF out the door...... it is like trying to unstick superglue....

Time to hit the hay.....

Make him clean your bathroom I told you!!!

back for a couple ideas

bigz free help! I would love to have maple leaves for the garden, that's something that is free and there every year. One of the best things to build soil,,,add them now and till them in,,,amazing what they will do

JJ,,,,I had about 3-4" of sandy loam soil here an old part of of a xmas tree farm, having added literally hundreds of yards of organic matter since '06 I now have 12-16" of the best garden soil in the state. It takes time and continued effort,,,I hit a motherload of 5-8 yr old horse manure that really helped get things started. Now a couple inches of compost and green manuring keep things in great shape.

last winter I supplemented feed with sprouted grains, used the burlap bag method from a thread here on BYC,,,really kept the girls healthy and laying well.

on that garlic spacing,,,,2 rows 6"between cloves, 6" between rows,,,then a 12" space(adds light and air) and 2 more rows,,,,4 row bed ends up 40" or so and I make these raised beds about 4-6" high,,,, pat the cloves in, water, and mulch with clean straw 6" deep,,,,,hope that helps. This is where the work in growing garlic is,,,in the spring a few foliar feedings, keep the moisture even until after the scapes form and your good till harvest in July.

ok,,,find the IB and hit the pillows

gn folks

Hey all you guys have been chatting away I can't believe I missed so many pages...........

Welcome back FT.......... you have been missed gf...So sorry about your aunt........ sending you hug......:hugs

BigZ where you live I'm coming over for supper tomorrow....... sounds like you all like exactly what we like....yummy Bear, my favorite for stew.....

Cute baby kitties again, LOL makes me want another 1 and we have 2 already..... and plenty of critters around here that eat a lot already...

TerriO you wouldn't use your children as fence testers would you ?????? hehehe

Speaking of that we figured out why our horse fence isn't working finally... the fencer died........ 1 more thing to add to my long list of broken crap this year, the curse is still going strong !!!!!!!!!
But on a brighter note Adam had his drug test yesterday, so will be starting his new job in a day or 2, I guess it will most likely be me, Jim and Annie doing them chickens, unless he starts tomorrow, does his 2 day evaluation to make sure he is road ready, and they wait till Sunday night to send him out...... but I'm not counting on it with my current luck its very unlikely at the best of luck......... That I actually would catch a break.

Anyway I been hurting and haven't felt like getting off the couch, much, my new tatt work has a nice MRSA infec tion that I went to the Dr. for today, musta been Adams finger that got me somehow, plus I was out of vetracyn, thaat I usually spray on fresh tatts at least 1 tx a day because it kills all those nasty little bugs..... ggggrrrrrrrr I was dumb arse I should have waited till the finger was totally healed, I forgot just how contagious that crap is, and man does my arm hurt, I have 2 huge sores, 1 just over my shoulder muscle that is huge, like 4 inches in diameter, and a quarter sized 1 closer to the elbow on the back of the arm........ I am miserable, these suckers hurt, and I don't normally whine about a little pain.....so anyway all I think I caught everyones stuff, hope zi didn't forget anyone, forgive me if I did, I'm too sore to keep looking back........ later all............ Kim

Fifi and Danny

Ps Just an FYI these pictures were taken at the previous owners house. So when you see all of those goats and sheep, no they are not mine !!! And that little mini mare is PG from Danny !! So she will be having a mule in the spring. Hopefully if Fifi is PG she will have it in spring or summer. The previous owner didn't see any signs of them "doing it" so she doesn't think she is. Don't really care but they are together now, I just hope she doesn't get knocked up now or during winter or we'll have a baby donk born in winter. No barn so she'd have to have it in the house !!!!!! LOL

Quote: And another half hour updating Dan on the phone !!!! I feel so loved !!! LOL

So DrHa, what is Donny doing in the hospital ???????

Kim, are you taking antibiotics for the MRSA? That is nothing to mess around with. I had it so bad a few years ago I was hospitalized for it. It really is painful and I'm no wuss !!!! lol
You should be seen and they will lance the MRSA sore. I was on intervenous antibiotics. My temp was sky high. Please get it checked out.

Went to the doc with DH ET today. He will be cutting down his prednisone to 30mg a day, down from 40mg. Then decrease it by 10 mg every 30 days. Will see the doc in 3 months,
That doc is so funny. We got on the topic of undertakers today of all things (Good thing I am not sensitive about that with my Aunt just passing) This docs sense of humor is so funny. I can't wait to see him again. Hard to explain.
Anyway, my sister gave me more bad news today. My dad's best friend passed away on Sunday. The funeral is tomorrow (thurs) so I won't make it down to Racine for it. He was a sargent for the Racine PD and as a kid I remember Mel stopping by the house while he was on duty. He was a very tall guy. He wore that black leather jacket and had that big radio he would talk into and my dad would tell me to give Mel a big bear hug before he left. I remember smelling the leather coat. He had the prettiest light blue eyes I have ever seen.
He was diabetic and I guess he lost a leg a year or so ago. I was just thinking about him last week and I wanted to get in touch with him when I went down next week. Guess heaven needed him too !!! Now he can hold my Aunt's hand while they make the journey together. She told my sister she was afraid to die. Maybe this made it a bit less scary.

Stopped at Wally World on the way home from getting Hay in Merril tonight. Bought Butt dog and Dolly Doo new fleece jackets. Dolly's is a bit tight so she definately has to go on a diet. Got her a purple one because that was my Aunt's favorite color.
Bought myself some Peanut Butter/Chocolate Ice cream..... to soothe my soul !! lol

Thanks for the garlic planting tip Unk.... Do your chickens try to dig it up? Chuck said today he noticed the chickens are digging and bathing in the spot we put down nice composted manure/dirt. I was going to plant the garlic there. Now we'll have to put some wire or something over the top to deter them. Always something to do.... never a dull moment.

Ok time for bed....sleep tight everyone.

looks like a white rock hen to me.. Had a pulled pork sandwich and french fries for supper.. I got stuck in town and had to eat at the restaurant.. played cards,, got home at 3 AM.. going to bed as soon as I finish my Sangria.. I hope I can sleep in in the morning..

bought 50 extra large zip lock bags for butchering day..

drained the oil out of Ollie.. can't get to the back two bolts holding the oil pan on.. might have to wedge the transmission shield plate a bit to get the socket extension in there.. I wasn't in the mood to wrestle with it yesterday..

Great Morning Everybody! Got the awaited call around 2 yesterday. Donny's surgery went very well they think thet got it all!
ya.gif
Turned out there wasn't any cancer in his stomach but they took one kidney his gall bladder and appendix. Was so happy to hear that there wasn't any in his stomach because from what I had read by the time they find it it's pretty much just a matter of time. He will have to go through radiation though. This morning got awakened by the phone ringing just before L's alarm went off. It was Donny. He asked if I was sleeping and said I should have been up already because it was nearly 6. What a guy! Guess they had him up walking already this morning he said it hurt like H. Told him after major surgery it should and he'll be getting a lot more worse pain than that. Of course one of the first things he asked about were the cows and the chickens. I assured him they were in good hands he said ya I know. I am so relieved that things went well! FT that should answer your question. I know after all that you've been through you can relate. Think if you keep going the way your going your gonna have to get some more land from your neighbors.

Glad you got one of your Aunts dogs and Butt dog has a companion. We're getting one of Cindy's kittens at the end of the month. THAT'S RIGHT I SAID ONE! All of you enablers back off!

Sorry to hear about your Dad's friend. We all in the upper age brackets have so many memories of great people we have had in our lives. Think I planted my garlic 2" deep 5" apart in loose moist soil. First time planting it, we'll see how it does. Jim hope your mechanic friend can get that Ollie going. Thinking it's something simple like timing or a crossed wire. Had 3 different wiring diagrams for my Harley what a nightmare that was. CC congrats on the hatch! Cindy hope your OK! Now I'm worried about you. More than usual. Dan had to take some Ibu myself yesterday. Won't do it unless I'm sceamin, hate taking anything if I don't have to. Bigz glad to hear your new saw is getting a work out. Gotta luv it! Supper sounds delish as always. Going into Donny's crawl space this morning to see what I'll be up against to replace that toidy flange. hoping it's a cut and replace situation but I should know better by now. And have to hunt down a heating element for the stove. That was quite the fireworks last night. I can see why Donny doesn't trust anyone in his fam to do chores. Went to do them last night and the hose was left in one of the cow's water barrels in the pasture and a half doz egg cartons were left dumped on coop floor. Dang kids! I watered and fed everyone yesterday morning and last night. Cows are just dumb enough to get tangled up in a hose and the cartons on the floor is just wrong! Better go get chores done. Heheee.

saw a big ole round worm in a poop when cleaning off the nest boxes yesterday time to do another worming here
