Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Morning.
sorry to hear about your day, CL
hugs.gif
pray that things are looking better this morning.

Kim~you listen to momma Frenchie!!! that stuff is nothing to mess around with! Get better

BigZ~I agree with Unka! I would kill for that much free mulch/compost. 65 acres of 99% conifers here, yuch. Will be logging this winter if the weather gets cold enough. Maybe I'll live long enough to see something with leaves grow in their place, sigh.

FT~donkeys!!! Wow, is she pretty!!!!!

CC~thank you for all your worming advice

They got their Wazine yesterday pm. Dumping their water today (no way to keep Noodle out of it but I figured that would be ok). since the jury seems to be out, even amongst the pros, about eating the eggs, out they go. we already have a good backlog and when we run out I'll just do my best "puppy eyes" at my neighbor and she'll share

. You think it's ok to let the girls have them? Dawg recommends upping their protein a couple days after their Vabazen dose with a mash of catfood eggs and their normal feed so I was thinking why not feed them their eggs? (already have some probiotics ready and waiting). Boy, think of the odds if Noodle really is a miss and not a mr. ???? After talking with my neighbor (who supplied Noodle's egg) the other day, it is possible that she

is at least 1/2 production white. As for the smattering of black feathers? going to try to get a pic of her one big roo. (One is all white the other looks a lot like a Lackenvelder to me, but I am really NOT good at breed ID's )

Going to look right now for the burlap bag for greens thing~sounds just like what I like to play with in the winter and hubby brought me home another bag of oats yesterday

Thanks to everyone for their input on the "Guess the chick" quiz

Now I need a lot more coffee and a lot less rain!!!!

DrH~how's Donny doing?

Ok, sorry if I missed any replies, only on my first cuppa. Heading now for the 2nd. Stay dry all

Dr Ha..glad Donny is ok... hoping he recovers quick.
Love the donkeys or are they mules... I get confused with those... love the spotted one though... never seen one that pretty!

Cind.. still working on the husband... really would like a furry pet.. he really doesnt.. but I am home more and it would be a companion for me and the kids... (of course that means it would glom on him!). He is pushing for expensive electronic toys for the kids for Xmas, I am pretty much done with them otherwise, except a lego kit for dd... she likes them almost as much as her brother. He could spend hours doing them, that and art are the only things he will sit still for. But I would love to get a puppy or kitty for Xmas for the family. I prefer a medum to longer hair kitty, but those black adn whites look pretty cute. Someone has 10 week old grey longhairs on craigslist over near TerriO... been drooling over them for a few weeks too. I just need a calm pet, not a crazy one... We had the crazy puppy... dont need to do that again... and yes, we are watching that dog again... sigh..

Next week, we get to watch our old dog again. She is 14 years old and lives with my inlaws. She was our first child for 8 years and was extremely jealous of the twin when they were born and they were enough work so she went to live with my inlaws. She is a setter and has arthritis, they have to help her up and down stairs, she sleeps most of the day and most days she doesnt choose to eat so they make her burgers and hand feed her. Problems with potty too... Last time she was at our house, she pooped and peed all over hte place and hardly ate a bite adn I had to carry the almost 70 dog in and out. Her quality of life is so low, but they dont want to hear it. They say she is "better"... we will see... next week is gonna be rough. Puppys you can train, but not this sweet old girl. Luckily we got a wet vac for our house when she was a puppy and still have it... it will be in use next week.

chickens are good, chicks are getting big. I know the gold one (midas) is a roo, not sure on the other black mottleds and ghost the spkash silkie... hoping for girls. Silkie is at that cute, trip over its feet stage.. so sweet and shy, it hides in my hair when I or dd pick it up.

happy rainy day everyone

Good wet morning everyone.

Dr HaHa. Glad your friend Donny is doing better than thought. I said 1 cat too when Maxine found her daughter. We now have 2. Seems like her daughter needed a playmate. :/

Been doing lots of research on heating the coop. I did last year. This year. I probably wont. I will see how fragile the bantams are. I need to clean the poo trays with bleach then i will be ready for the girls. Did i tell you i am getting them on saturday 7:00am before the guy goes to work. So i have to leave my house at 4:45 am. It is cheaper and better than shipping. My kids think i am crazy. They just don't get chickens.

Stay dry everyone

Good morning! I thought it was supposed to be a nice day? Cold, cloudy and windy here...maybe I will work in the house. My BFF was supposed to come over today so I moved all my clients to tomorrow. Now she has to sub at her school so no visitor for me.
barnie.gif
I like having visitors!
I took a video of the goat playing with the horse yesterday. They are playing "King of the Mountain" When I get it posted I will share. The mountain is made of what you speak of Dan! But it is 10-15 year old manure...yes I think JJ should come and get some and try it out...we call it Black Gold cause it is so rich. Makes for good garden dirt for sure.

Doc--glad to hear about Donny! Great news. Did you say how they found out about his cancer? He doesnt seem the "go to the doctor" type to me by what you have said. I am praying that the chemo/radiation goes well for him. I have heard it's not at all pleasant but some can tolerate it better than others--may he be one of them.
hugs.gif

Kim now you are the one scaring us with a MRSA infection! Sheesh, I know you said you got it checked out but stay on top of it OK? Bad sh!t for sure! If it is so contagious should you be working with raw meat? (like butchering?) I think that worries me too.

Cind--((((((HUGS)))))) I hope today is better for you girl!
Kristi--kittens are NOT a calm pet!
lau.gif
Reminds me of when we fostered this one litter; they ran around the house so much and fast that they were actually panting! Funny watching a little kitten pant. Might be better with two...might not!

Time for a second cuppa...then I have to go out and turn the critters loose. Cant imagine wanting to be out there today...that wind is nasty!
TerriOlongingforavisitorsoshewouldnthavetoworkonstuff

ETA: David--people that dont have chickens just dont "get it." IF they did...we'd ALL have chickens! (and the world would be a happier place)
And Frenchie! I always wanted a mule! Those Donks sure are cute! Glad you cleared up about the pic's location! I didnt think it looked like your fencing and I did think, "when did she get so many goats?!" LOL!

Forgot to say thanks for all the good wishes for Donny so THANKS! You people are the best!!!!!!
hugs.gif
TO he knew it was cancer a couple of months ago and I was on his A to get to the doc. He gave me his wood pile and chickens before he even knew for sure.
somad.gif
I kept telling to go but he kept putting it off until his annual physical. Yep he hates Dr.s and taking pills. Went in the crawl space while doing chores and saw to my horror that when they cut the holes in the flooring that there was no room at all to work which means everything has to be cut to exact length or open up the hole for some wiggle room. And too short of a straight run to just cut it off and add new. Means a whole lot of of $ elbows to get it done. Was thinking I'd might be able to make a piece to go under the broken flange to bolt the toidy to. Just looked at Home Depot web sight and someone already invented MY idea.
lau.gif
A 2 piece flange that goes under the old one. $10. Now just hope there's room for it, the hole in the floor might get a little bigger. Also hope it's the same style wax ring that I happen to have in my good stuff. Called and have an element ordered that will come in tomorrow for the stove. Found that it grounded out against the cabinet good move engineer! Will put some split 1/4" gas line on the cabinet so that doesn't hapen again. Even the gloomyness can't get me down today.

WWWW cutest donks ever, totally in love with the spotted............and those ears just kill me.........
Morning everyone, yucky here this am, cloudy cool and windy, chickies are all out hanging in the barn not liking the wind, except Buffy, Lacy, Angela, and a BO, who are my best foragers, always out and about if they stay in they may miss the worms/bugs/ or greens that are still to be had.......
Yes all don't worry so much about me, I thanks you for doing so but, I'm good I have an arsenal of Antibiotics from the Dr.. homeopathic for staph, and liquid silver, gonna do a little research later and kill this crap out, this makes twice in a year now, and I'm quite sick of it already.......Docs, say no cure, I bet there is a natural one out there somewhere, anyone on here ever use MMS???? wondering if a detox with that stuff won't kill it out.
Problem with regular Dr.s is they really don't want anyone healthy, because that is loss of job security and pay check ya know, so of course if there is a cure it will never be found in our current medical establishment, along with big Pharma....... I could kick my sons butt for bringing his Gf here with this crap, that is where it started last year, not sure still how Adam got it though cuzz the finger thing started at Jim's and as far as I know no one there has it, or has had it......... could be a fluke and maybe the spider who bit him was actually the the carrier........ still can't believe his is not all the way healed, but they do seem to take forever to go away. The Docs, called this morning and wanted to know if I could come back next week and get rechecked, I really think they think I'm made of money......
They wanted to lance it open especially the really big one, but its right under my brand art work, and they are not ruining it........... I also found last year that that does not always help anyway, its sorta more like a pimple ya have to wait for it to be ready to drain........... I sliced mine open last year with a razorblade and it did not do any good, wouldn't drain till it was good and ready.... So thansk for the kind words everyone, but I'll be just fine in a month or 2.
TerriO not sure about the butchering thing, but cooking the meat would kill it anyway, I'm sure, not even MRSA can live through 2 hours at 350 degrees........LOL plus it isn't on my hands, way up on my arm which will be covered, and as long as hands are clean we should be good, which they would be anyway, soooo........ anyone know on this one speak up........... well have to get my butt going for now have an appointment for heat assistance hope they can help us out a bit......... Later all......Kim

KIM

My father had or has MRSA when he went into the VA for colon cancer surgery. I know that the medical community is afraid of it. You say MRSA around a hospital and they all dive for the masks gowns and gloves.

as I remember the antibiotics they gave him completely knocked him out, which had them upset that he could not wake up long enough to do his physical therapy, but they could not make the connection. The drugs would stop and he would do double the therapy they asked for because he wanted to get out of there and the infection would come back so more antibiotics and more 22 hours of sleep a day.

He has learned how to work it to his advantage when he has to stay at a hospital he says I have had MRSA in the past and he is put in a private room.

I have heard of it running through retirement homes and closing them down.

Hi again...had to come back in. My joints are aching! THis weather is only good for ducks, geese and MUD! Not so good for folks that have to go out in it! I wanted to go to F&F today to find a new gate for the back room and also go grocery shopping...nope--no $$ in the checking account AGAIN!Dam^ I just hate that...always like this on a Thursday...I need to start shopping earlier in the week or something.
I guess I will go and do more laundry...I wasnt DS23 to get up and clean out the dryer drum...taking a really long time to dry clothes lately. I wish the filter would catch more of the lint!
Later--TerriOneedingsomenourishmentbutwhattoeat?

Ha! I went on a field trip to a pumpkin patch/tree farm/veggie place this morning. we took Haldens early childhood class. 2 of the kids are autistic, one I'm not sure and Halden. It was quite a muddy day! (With a bit a screaming children). Oh... it happened to be Scottish misting as well the whole time, so a bit of wetness to go with it all.

Now we're home and I'm still drinking my morning coffee. Halden isn't eating well, so I'm fearing stomach flu is coming his way..,

I have to get to F&F today! Chickies need food and I don't want to tie them over with crappy purina stuff. So no choice, dry clean clothes on and back out we go. Terri I'll pick you up your gate thing ;)

Love the pictures FT! So cute! Will the mini horse make a mini donkey I wonder? I hope not, or you might be driving 300 miles one way again...

Super glad to hear Donny's prognosis seems better. Glad he got in and got this done now instead of waiting any longer!

Sorry Cind about crappy day.
Sorry Ghost about the darn infection.

I better go. I have got to get up to Baraboo, and get home for Haldens nap. Then a freind is coming over to try and help me with my knitting, then the kids will be home from school, then get a run in rain or shine... Busy busy busy
