Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Morning all!!!

CC~yep, I was one that had trouble with the Purina crumbles. TOTALLY screwed up my girls!
rant.gif
Took less than a week and they were all laying water balloons!!! Took me weeks (and a lot of calcium-resorted to crushing calcium tablets in their scrambled eggs) to streighten them out! In all fairness, my girls were still not the healthiest at the time BUT I will never, never, ever use Purina again!!!! Ok, sssscccrreeeaaccchhhh, me dragging away my soapbox now.

Ok Friday crazy of the day everyone!

yes folks, this pic is for real! there is a company (Japanese?) making chicken suits! This is just the slicker. There are also fur coats, one that looks like a jogging suit, you get the idea. I can try to post the link to the entire "photo shoot" if anyone's interested.

UPDATE~found out an Austrian and a Japanese company have combined and are TOURING with a fashion show of their designs!!!!

Ok, may not be the correct place for this but I just have do the

Been going thru some problems all summer caused by the chemo drug I'm on and things weren't looking great, (a Lot of running back and forth to GB, lost count of the echocardio's and blood tests, on and off drugs, etc. feeling yucky, you get the pic) HOWEVER, yesterday, the final results were in on the latest round on Monday and .........drumroll please...........IT ALL WORKED!!!! and not just worked but I came thru it with minimal heart damage and I am now stable again, able to stay on the drug I really needed to keep me going and, miracle of miracles (seriously, really!) I held PCRU!!!! (the chemical equivalent of remission)

Vick... That is SUPER FANTASTIC AWESOME NEWS! I like to give credit to Him for miraculous things. So I'd like to think He as watching over you the whole time. Very wonderful for sure! You get lots more time with your chickies!!! May be you can get more now too... :D

TO, got your letter, thank you for the 'not hate mail'. ;)  It is going in my car this morning. I need to get a few more so that the others in the underground can get some too!

So I have a bit of an issue: the DD's BF works at a dairy farm and will come over after work. I have no issue with this but apparently I have a cat that DOES. That little sh!t is peeing/spraying in several places.... it is as though the litter boxes do not exist! She is really making me  . I can't toss her outside either since we are surrounded by streets and of course the city is on the warpath against cats roaming at large.....

I have gotten the calming sprays, I have been cleaning the soiled spots several times a day with enzyme treatments...... ugh. It is so frustrating to figure out a cats psyche.....

Ok better run, work work work!!!!

Kitty p!sser fixer: FELIWAY. Not cheap but totally worth it. It releases pheromones that calm the cat. You plug them in where the cat has been marking. Vets use it. Breeders with many cats use it. Since you're already using descenter on the spots (good for you btw. my MIL just used soap and water and never could figure out why it still smelled and the cat kept doing it...) this will really seal the deal. My first cat was so miffed when i introduced a second cat, he ****** and sh!t 12 inches from my head while I slept! I took him to the vet and he gave himself some stress induced inflammation and she said FELIWAY. It worked! I kept it plugged in for a couple months in my bedroom where he hangs out, and another room in the house to be safe. No more Instances, and I have 2 male cats. You can look online for coupons.

Good morning! Took quite a while to catch up today for sure! FIRST--Congratulations Vicki!

That is fabulous news! And dont be timid to share your joy here...we like to hear it all! And I am sure everyone will join me in saying we are glad you think of us as Cyber Friends. Now you just have to get to a bash so we can meet you in person and be better than cyber friends! Speaking of, I want to start a thread for the spring bash in "Meet-Ups" pretty soon...then no one will have an excuse not to attend!
Glad you got the letter BL4. If you go to the website they sell the stickers there. (you probably figured that out though

So Doc, Donny told his BIL(or was it SIL?) to help you with the chores? It will be funny if he goes to water again and the hose is locked in the pump house! Maybe he will get the message?
BigZ!!!! I looked at that website of the auction folks...just reading the info brought tears to my eyes thinking about selling a family farm! Looks like a fantastic place too. It is too bad that we dont have a rich benefactor in our group! I would move up there in a heartbeat for sure! Although I must say that the Western area of the state is more to my liking landwise.....but if we are dreaming we can make the compound wherever we want it right?

Judge--the icons are there...you have to go to a reply window to see them. They arent in the reading messages part. (I think that is what you mean)
Thanks for the tutorial on donkeys vs mules Frenchie...I am sure that cleared up some people's questions! Ifor one, would LOVE to have a mammoth mule...spotted and gaited please! See if you can talk to your hooved ones...maybe they can make me one! That is actually what I thought my mare had when our horse Moon was born...his ears were so long that I thought I had myself a mule...what I had origionally wanted.

OK--I guess I need to move here...been sitting on this chair a while and the coffee is cold...the pot is empty, I might have to make another one too...oh Gee Toyland is opening tomorrow...guess who is staying far away from F&F tomorrow! Tommy must be coming out of his molt--he was crowing up a storm this morning. I wonder if it is going to rain again today--kinda looking like it...I am NEVER going to get those potatoes out of the ground!
Have a great day everyone! TerriOreallyfeelinglikedoingNOTHINGtodayagain

BTW, I have already started dropping the hint to hubby that I would rrrreeeaaallllyyyy like to have a little brooder house because, ummmmmmmmmmm, MAYBE, if (when, hehehe) broody momma decides to become broody butt again, I MIGHT get some eggs to shove under her

First when it comes to beating illness dance every day! all day if you can!

second

I have found that large dog carrier makes a good starter brooder it is dark enough closed enough to keep out drafts, big enough to let the hen stretch her legs once in a while, and big enough for chickies to venture out from under momma when they are ready. and you can observe from the sides and the door.

Thanks everyone for the heads up on purina.

The local feed store has a blend they order for themselves, from a grain mill maybe that is a 16% with corn and seeds and grains in it along with ground up oyster shells in it.

I will try that and report back. If my birds start laying again ever.

They are called Day's Feed

I know the owner has birds, so I assume she had this mixed up for herself and is just now selling it.

FT - I would love a mammoth mule! If I didn't live so close to town I would have a donkey or 2. They are my favorite.
And, yes my dog is a golden retriever, so he has floppy ears. If this happens again I will be lancing it and not paying that much money to have "surgery". It blows my mind that it cost that much. I suppose I better get outside and play with the baby horse.
