Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

good wet morning,

funny pic of Jim and Ollie

Terri may I suggest a leaf blower instead of the shovel,,,,or a riding vac

still stuck with getting the garlic in, seems like it's taking forever but this constant wet is really messing me up. I'm planting 50 lbs, 3 beds, about 1200 row feet when finished,,,,colder but sunny this weekend it has to get finished

taking the rain day and heading to Antigo FF, butcher shop, hair cut, then to check out the feed store in Bryant, saves 20 miles over the other mill in Aniwa and still gets me to Antigo. I started fermenting my feed last month at this point it appears that has cut the actual feed used by 25%, hard to really say if this will hold true when the free range is done next month

Dan I haven't gotten any garlic in! I have tons. I'm hoping to get to it this weekend. But it needs to stop raining for more than one day or me to get out there. Too muddy otherwise!

yes bigfam any pipping?

I had a couple white amer. roosters that my son named thing 1 and thing 2, in retrospect, they were good roosters. stayed away from all people didn't damage the hens, and didn't fight with eachother.

I hope you get some hens from yours.

SHeesh...I lost mine, found it, got it planted and it's up! (just kidding on that last part! LOL!) With this weather and all the moisture I wouldnt doubt that it would sprout yet this fall...
Speaking of: can you believe this weather??? I am so glad there are 2 wayward pairs of shorts that were still in the laundry...I am wearing a pair today! (along with a tank top) We hit 79*! Yup--I'd say Indian Summer for sure! I hope it continues without the rain so some of my place dries out a bit!
Got the Mums and the Iris planted today. I had to open my plastic in two coops cause it was just TOO HOT in there for the birds! I havent ever seen them panting in October but they were. I sprinkled a while bunch of stall dry in the coops today too...I hope I can get them a bit better before it gets too cold to work!
I finally sat down after getting dinner all prepped. DH has the dogs at the dog park and the kids will be home from work about 6. I made some last of garden tomatoes with fresh basil, EVOO, other fresh herbs and some pearl Mozzarella. Cant wait to eat that! Also have pork chops ready to go on the grill, garden spuds waiting to boil and garden Brussels sprouts in the micro. Lastly I prepped the lemon juice and egg yolks to make some HM Hollandaise sauce (my specialty) to pour over the Brussels. Yup, another yummy one here for sure!

Was slightly disappointed in my egg collection today. I found 1 and a half dozen! ***?! I know that Super Mama is on another clutch of 13 but I am not aware of any others hiding eggs. All of their usual places were checked and I found nothing else! The birds seem to be finished for the most part with their molt...not really sure what is going on....might have to make a trip up to the rafters and see what I can see.

OK--me and Tommy have to finish our sherry....kids and DH should be here soon. I guess I will give him some mealworms--hey H&R; I definitely have some to share so you can get a colony going. I think I "owe" you some!

Have a great night! TerriOlookingforwardtodinnerforsure

Anyone going to Fond du Lac this weekend? I'm looking for Old English Game Bantams, anyone know what's usually there?

Banties: I have never been to that swap so I couldnt say...are you looking for SQ stuff or just something that will run wild on your place? If the last thing is what you are looking for I could help you for sure! I have OEGB mixed with Phoenix and they are the best self sufficient birds EVER!

Hey Terri, I would like to find some nice looking ones, I don't show but I like the looks of them so would like to keep them pure. Thanks anyway.

I have a pipper! There's still 2 days left on those eggs, and 3 days left on the others. So we'll see how long it takes for tjt one to get out. May be I'll wake up to a new chick!

Oh wait... I don't have a brooder set up yet. I don't procrastinate. I'll remind myself that I don't procrastinate tomorrow.
