There's a lady named Tamara Larson in Polk county who does Wildlife rescue. My father in law worked with her at the sheriffs dept. Anyway they just aired her story on abc news in Minneapolis. She took in a bear cub that was starving and dehydrated. Someone broke into the pen and beat the cub so bad it lost use of its back legs. She couldn't find anyone with the proper license to take it so the DNR wanted it put down. So Tamara applied for the license. The DNR pulled her rehab license for bears and she lost her job as a game warden because of this! I think the residents of Wisconsin need to stand up for her. The bear is recovering and using her back legs somewhat, but still cannot be released into the wild. Why should someone that cares so much about what they do be punished? They took everything away from her for not killing this little bear cub. She has a website if anyone is interested. I think its Tammi's Wildlife Rescue.
That is the most horrible thing I have heard. How could someone do something so sick?

Hi All!

TO... So sorry about your little JRT

BBP.... WTH!! That was so unfair to that woman. I'm sure if the cub was "that bad" that it really Needed to be put down... she would have said "go ahead". My bet is it was a money thing.

Nothing going on here.... I'm going to check on my chilly birds before bed. Night all!

Had two chicks hatch today. One paint silkie and one black silke however the paint one had a mishap and didn't make it. I was pulling a Jim (staggered hatch) and didn't have the wire screen in the bottom of the bator. Found it face down in the water well.

to me for that one. Poor chicky. Of course it had to be the paint. Well CRS has struck. Guess I'll call it a night. I have to go to Rhinelander for a bone density test in the morning (1pm LOL) so better get to bed so I can get up in time to shower etc. Nite all, hoping for a better tomorrow for everyone.

Terri I am sorry about your dog, I lost one on the operating table. So sad.

It is 25 degrees out now, brrr, not looking forward to dog walkies.

Saw a couple on her last night. Will get an appoinment for the boys first shots and one to get Peatwo's bumble foot finally fixed. Should see if he'd work on my back too. It's been week and not much improvement. I'll give it a day or two more and call the VA for an appointment. Starting to have bad thoughts about it. Herniated disc? Better go see if the kids are chicken sickles and get L's car warmed up.

good mmmmmorning

20º with a flippin wind thrill of 8º,,,not so nice out there,,,glad there are some warmer days in the forecast

TO,,,sorry for you bad week,,,loosing a dog is always a hard one

Joe I had my 1st disc problem a year ago, had a bad back for years but the disc thing is a real bad deal,,,,good luck,,,,and when they say "rest it" DO IT !

being old and occasionally forgetful guess who didn't plug in the heated waterers he set up last week?,,,,,duhhh,,,,at least the temp in the coops stayed up and nothing was frozen,,,,and yes they are all plugged in now.....I will move the 2 BCM roosters out of the "Jim cage" and into their new condo room in the big coop,,,should be interesting to see and hear how they react to that

I am still deciding exactly how to move the rest of the layers/pullets around, I'm thinking all my mutts and non-breeders will get together with the older layers. I guess locking down for a few days won't hurt much with this weather.

the BCM pullets and Ameraucana pullets are all going together in the new coop/shack,,,,this should be enough body heat

ok,,,enough rambling time to find some brkfast
