Aww, Dr. H, jealous of that lovely mass of kittenfluff you have there. We're currently cat free in the house since the boys came, but looking forward to they wanting a kitten in the future (when they are old enough not to dig in litterboxes for kitty crunchies). Our house cat, Cedar, is now our front porch cat with a heated dog house, heated bowl, fleecy bed, etc. Unfortunately she elected while a house cat to begin to mark everything in the house and after medically screening her with no problems found, she moved outside. She loves it, follows me around doing chores, and languishes on the porch. You can't get her to come inside now, so I don't feel too bad, but I do miss having a house cat.
My Maggie passed away a couple years ago now at the age of 20. All spitfire and hell-on-mice, I got her as a 5 week old spitting creature that tamed down to the best cat that ever existed. You could do anything with her, never hissed or spit after day one...well, unless there is a mouse present, then all bets are off! She shattered a couple of mouse tanks in her day trying to get at them.
Anyway, sorry for the run on, just very happy for you for your new kitties.
Can't wait to get another myself someday. If I ever get my dog / chicken building built I hope to have some barn kitties, too, but right now there isn't a good place for them away from the driveway.
Jim, love the photos of the setup...so when you coming to my house to build me one?
Thanks for the compliments on the photo. I probably would enter it somewhere, but have no idea where those things are entered, so at this time I've got it as my desktop and am enjoying it.
The photo was somewhat staged, though was captured with a bit of luck and a trial of a couple different positions. Got myself a new lens for birthday, so was trying it out.
Thanks for the info on lights. Need to go get a couple things so I can split the electricity off the water bucket line and run some light into the coop.
