Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Aww, Dr. H, jealous of that lovely mass of kittenfluff you have there. We're currently cat free in the house since the boys came, but looking forward to they wanting a kitten in the future (when they are old enough not to dig in litterboxes for kitty crunchies). Our house cat, Cedar, is now our front porch cat with a heated dog house, heated bowl, fleecy bed, etc. Unfortunately she elected while a house cat to begin to mark everything in the house and after medically screening her with no problems found, she moved outside. She loves it, follows me around doing chores, and languishes on the porch. You can't get her to come inside now, so I don't feel too bad, but I do miss having a house cat. :) My Maggie passed away a couple years ago now at the age of 20. All spitfire and hell-on-mice, I got her as a 5 week old spitting creature that tamed down to the best cat that ever existed. You could do anything with her, never hissed or spit after day one...well, unless there is a mouse present, then all bets are off! She shattered a couple of mouse tanks in her day trying to get at them.

Anyway, sorry for the run on, just very happy for you for your new kitties. :) Can't wait to get another myself someday. If I ever get my dog / chicken building built I hope to have some barn kitties, too, but right now there isn't a good place for them away from the driveway.

Jim, love the photos of the setup...so when you coming to my house to build me one? :D

Thanks for the compliments on the photo. I probably would enter it somewhere, but have no idea where those things are entered, so at this time I've got it as my desktop and am enjoying it. :) The photo was somewhat staged, though was captured with a bit of luck and a trial of a couple different positions. Got myself a new lens for birthday, so was trying it out.

Thanks for the info on lights. Need to go get a couple things so I can split the electricity off the water bucket line and run some light into the coop.

WOW Jim! You really ticked off my better half!

I showed him your pics and gave him my best "but honey???" Now he has another winter project building me a smaller version of your setup!

looks just like my poor girls this morning!!!!

got up and had to shovel my way to the coop!!!!

They were good little chookies and stayed outside in the garden even after I was finally done shoveling out the run, etc. (almost 4 1/2 hrs) Just put them back in the coop with a warm plate of scrambled eggs and oatmeal. I do NOT spoil my chickies! Ok, so I carried them back from the porch to their coop one at a time snuggled inside my coat, so what???

HURLEY~ the bulb I have in the coop is a daylight (aka full spectrum) bulb same lumins, wavelengths, etc. as the ones you buy for plants, etc. only this one is a cfl so it takes a lot less energy, no heat, and last practically forever. Just an FYI.

DrH....Have you decided who is Butch and who is Sundance yet?

Yea, I would have liked to show you around a little more, but you looked like you wanted to get going. For those wondering about the phone thing.... my phone had shut it's self off! Poor DrH was headed this way with no clue where to go! LOL

Glad you got clean kitties now.... Taz will get over it. The kittens will learn too.

Hurley, that is a wonderful photo! The lighting is perfect. There are online photo contests all the time. Pixoto and Popular Photography are ones I've posted to.

Congrats for proud papa DrH! They're cuuuuuuuuute!

Having Julie and her fam over for breadbowl chili and the game. I'm making hot chocolate for the kids (with real milk and chocolate over the stove, yum!) and Gluhwein (hot spiced wine) for the adults. Plus still have half a pumpkin/chocolate/cheesecake pie from T day, they'll be rolling home. GO PACK GO!

Mornin',

Well the kittens, best any of us can remember, should be about 6 weeks old or so. Of course, you just kinda know when they're ready to go...another week or so prolly. They are so expensive just like any other purebreed if you google aroung like I did. The problem was, I saw this kitten picture they had taken looking up at a starry sky backdrop. It struck me as a beautiful picture and perfect kitten. Also, the gray was very light/non existent when they're kittens. Either way, I had a moment and bought her for my daughter a few years ago. She's a great cat though.
She is a pretty cat. Can't remember what I read about Ragdolls. Don't they have an unusual trait?

Well, 2 kitties are on their way to their new home with DrH!

Wow, I wouldn't have recogniized you Doc !!! After all it's been about a year and a half...... And the last time I saw ya you were hammered !!! LOL Those little pussy cats are adorable !!! The olive oil probably made their poop runny.
Cind, did you deworm them? If so what did you use? My little one still has a pot belly. I used two different kind of dewormers but I think I need to use one for round worms.
Don't know why I'm so in love with my little Pussy Cat. Can't get enough lovin in !!! Friendliest kitten I've ever had. But she is getting a bit more independent now. Causing all kinds of trouble.
I think Doc needs to install one of those live cams at his house !!!! LOL
We should all have them !!!!!! Check up on each other !!! LOL
Ok back to reading. For some reason I couldn't get CheeseHeads to come up today?????
