The city allows up to 9 hens, but my subdivision's HOA doesn't allow any. I was told I can write a letter and the advisory committee would discuss it and it would be up to the board of directors and the developer to change it. I don't know how long it will take before I hear back, but I'll keep you all posted.

A neighbor whose dh was on the committee suggested to just go for getting the chickens. The more I thought about it, the more uneasy I feel about constantly having to look over my shoulders and being afraid to even open the front door if there should be some type of inspector waiting for me. So, if the answer is no, that'll be the end of my chicken-raising dream.

Hopefully the council will be swayed toward agreeing to allow them. Please keep everyone updated! If they do decline the request , does your HOA allow for a meeting to contest the decision?
