Wobbly 5 Week Old Chick

Hi!

What are they eating? I ask because it sounds like a possible vitamin deficiency.

Check for lice and mites and inspect their droppings too for early signs of coccidiosis

So no signs of lice or mites. All droppings look normal to my untrained eyes. I bring them in to sleep every night and I watched them all real close this morning when I brought them back outside and they ate and drank. Poor girl was eating ok then she started pecking the ground right next to the feeder, almost like she was missing the feeder or couldn't see it. She also keeps getting knocked down by her brooder mates who have not slowed down at all and are still quite crazy. Should I separate her and keep her inside alone?

That's up to you. If you think she's struggling too much and maybe not getting enough to eat or drink, then yes, I would do your suggestion. Could you bring in another of the more "calmer" ones to be with her if you do that?

If you do, I'd keep the feeder/waterer in the same spot. If she's having vision issues, by now she'd know right where those are.

I have done this in the past with a weak one or two. I feed them mash mostly and put a couple of drops of vitamins in it every other day. I also put powdered probiotics in their water, every other day. After a couple of days of this, they usually seem to come around.

When I was brining the chicks in last night to sleep, I noticed the comb on the wobbly one is significantly smaller and paler than the other 3. Do you think that’s due to a possible vitamin deficiency? I took a pic of her and put it next to a pic of one of the others for reference.

I know these aren’t the best pics but their poop all looks pretty normal to me. I’ll try to post the video of her I took and I’ll let you know!

Ours are all on that same feed. Now it makes me wonder more what's causing it, as that plus your Nutri-Drench is certainly enough nutrition.

So in summarizing:

She's still walking around "drunk," eating, drinking, and poops look good.

They're on good quality feed and supplimented with vitamins.

You've checked for mites and lice, no signs found.

You're giving E and scrambled eggs?

I'm left with thinking you should try deworming them.

Mostly yes. I have not given straight vitamin E yet. I will be getting some today. They have been on Rooster Booster Vitamins and Electrolytes with Lactobacillus Poultry Supplement though every day since I discovered her like this. I have Ivermectin paste 1.87%. Do you think that’s good or should I get something different to deworm when I go get the Vitamin E today?
