Wobbly chicken

I have a 14 week old Brahma pullet that over the last few days has gotten very unsteady on her legs. She is eating well and her eyes are clear, but she can hardly support herself and has to lay down often. She is with 9 other chickens and everyone else is fine. Any ideas?

When she lays down, does she lay on her side or sit upright? Does she limp on one side or wobble equally on both? Does she hold either leg in an odd position (if so, which leg)? What is her diet? Have you checked her feet for injuries or bumbles? Is she vaccinated for Marek's?

I would separate her from the others, like in a dog crate until she improves. I would also give her vitamins, maybe polyvisol or or something to add to her water. Maybe somebody else could help with the dosage. Maybe she has a diet deficiency or had a mild injury. I asked the questions I did because sometimes Marek's disease starts with a limping chicken (usually, but not always, starts in the left leg). I would keep her separate because the others will eventually pick on her, and keeping her in a small cage can imobilize her and help with healing. Just make sure her food and water are in easy reach so she can rest and heal. Keep us posted.

Pennie. Just wondering what happened with your wobbly chicken. Mine who started limping at about the same age as yours is still wobbly after over a month and a couple of different treatments, and I'm looking for an explination that makes sense.
