The forcast does look bad for tomorrow. The times I have been there is seems a lot of the venders have their own canopy shelters so I hope they dont pack up and leave or decide not to come.

My daughters and I will just bring our unbrella and run for cover if need be.

Got there at 6:00 am. Left at 7:30 and got rain as I was leaving.


I was told it wasn't worth the drive because the flea market was taking over the livestock . I thought it was a good turn out and will likely go back in August. Lots of poultry , rabbits, dogs etc...

We got there as it was raining like mad, we had to pull off the road and sit a bit cause it was raining so bad. After we got parked we sat in the truck for a bit til it stopped raining. We went thru the swap 2 times, the 2nd after everyone uncovered their tables. We bought a peahen, a hen duck, some china[flu blue], a cherry pie and some jap quail. Had a blast as always. I really like going there. Cant wait to go again...........

92caddy- you must have got there about the same time I did. We got there about 12 minutes after that awful hard rain.

In June there wasnt enough guinea fowl and they sold out fast. Well the venders must have took the hint because this time there were lots of baby guineas (keets) all over the place and some adult ones. I was very happy about that since it was my goal to go get guineas. Also got another isa brown.

I always have a blast there, its like going to a family reunion and plus I liek to shop.

I wish I could get it thru my kids head not to stop and pet every darn dog, puppy and cat there is, I keep telling her how would you like it to be in a cage and have a 100 poeple touch and poke you all day long, plus the diseses one could get or spread in doing so. Then she is always wanting one to take home, while thats fine, if she takes it to PA with her when she goes back, but I dont think her mother, my ex would like it very much.

I cant get over the prices of puppies, some of them are out of this world, I know, my kid ask every puppy owner what they were wanting for a pup. Plus the breeds that they have mixed to make thsi and that breed. I can remember when you couldnt give a mutt away, now they are bringing such high prices, its just crazy.


Something I saw there today that I havent seen before was fawns, there was like 3 people that had em. The one place was wanting 300.00 for one, I thought, what a bunch of bull, my sister raises them and there are times when they cant give em away, but she lives in PA.

Had a blast and cant wait to go back

We need to have a BYC tent or stand put up, so we can have a place to meet up and meet and greet eachother................

I saw all those fawns too. I was suprised there were so many. I thought raising wild animals was kind of illegal? But I know there is some kind of way to get around that. I have known of ppl to raise fawns because their mothers were either hunted and killed or hit by cars.

I really like it when the venders put signs up saying the breed name price and age of the animal because I get sick of having to stop and ask all the time and Im sure they get sick of it to.
Im picky and know what I want, how old I want it and all that junk since Im using a limited budget.

I got a 1 1/2 year old isa brown for just $3. They were at that 1st time molting stage and looked real bad thus their cheap price. But even tho they were 1 1/2 year old they still have the ability to lay a nice amount of eggs for a good while yet so I got one. She laid a big heavy egg yday and today even tho she is molting, actually just getting over molting.

I wish I had had extra money for the Amish bake goods. Lots of good looking baked goods there.

Im wondering if hatching and selling chicks is a good enough small bussiness or not? Because Im thinking it would be an educational and good thing for my kids to do with my help. I just dont know if the market for it is good enough or not?

I agree with the above post it sure would be nice if there was a forum vender booth or like an agreed upon meeting spot to meet others.

My friend and I went last month and this past weekend and had a great time. Its nice being able to chat with people and learn about their breeds. Two people there were particularly great, Mike, from down around Bippus, In. - he had tons of beautiful little fluffy butts, and a guy named Gary Daily, he had the Cuckoo Marans. He talked me into WAY to many (which wasn't hard ) and was super nice.
