"Sorry." Charger said. She sensed that he wanted to be alone and walked to the hunting ground. She sniffed for rabbits.
Ferron trotted ahead and came to the den site. He laid down under a bare tree.
Charger sprinted after a rabbit, easily catching up to it. After she killed it, she smelled another. Dropping that rabbit, she chased down another one. As Charger came back for her first rabbit, she smelled other wolves. She leaped up to a vantage point, curious.

As she stepped onto a rock, Charger saw a gathering of wolves in the distance, in loner territory. Maybe that's it. She thought to herself, hoping she hadn't been seen. She found cover and silently snuck closer.
Ferron looked around. Charger hadn't come back yet and wondered where she was. Of course she said no to go hunting, but he would respect her decision and thought maybe they could be friends. He got up to look for her.
Charger snuck close enough to hear them. She sat still as a stone in the leafy bush, her bright green eyes watching.
Ferron found her scent and began to follow it. He called out," Charger!"
Star looked at Nita.
Charger was too far away to hear him.
