A lot of people have a personal policy of not friending co-workers, for many different reasons.

Personally I think her response was a very good one.

A great number of people could tell you that they've been fired from their jobs for something they posted on Facebook, so I don't think her response was at all inappropriate. Separation of work and personal life is a really excellent idea for a number of reasons.
