woman killed at seaworld

LOL..not Seaworld..they are million/trillion? dollar a year theme park...

Anheuser Busch-InBev owns Seaworld, they paid 2.2 billion for it and have received 173 million of it back. They view it primarily as a promotional tool, not a profit-center in and of itself.

Blackstone, the New York-based private-equity giant, will pay $2.3billion in cash plus give A-B InBev the right to participate in as much as $400million of its initial returns. Blackstone will own 100 percent of Busch.

Ok, YOUNGINS--LISTEN UP!!!

Wild animals are called wild animals for a reason--They're NOT Domesticated. They have never BEEN domesticaled. They never WILL be domesticated. READ, "Roping a deer"

Given half a chance ANY wild animal will act wild. And, given the right training any feral domestic animal can be gentled, witness 100 Day Mustang challenges.

Wild animals have different wiring. That's why people NEVER domesticated a killer whale. Did she understand that she was trying to train a "Killer?" I'm so sorry for her family. Momma's, don't let your babies grow up to train killer(s) (whales)!!!!

I agree ducks4you, I can sort of understand why they would want to keep manatees and maybe injured animals that can NOT survive in the wild but training them to do tricks is just wrong!

True... over many millennium of development. How long have we kept orca in fishtanks? 50-60 years?
Ducks4you is right, if a tad agitated over the point.

Anheuser Busch-InBev does much, much more than just Seaworld.

The point was that zoos and the like are not all about the money. It is a tragedy, but the majority of the people who work at such parks are doing it purely for the love of the animals.

I double anybody is willing to spend the money. Sad but true.

I know when I went on a dolphin swim with my dh in Hawaii many years ago they had an enclosure in the ocean that was quiet large, the dolphins spent much of their time in that they said. it was at least an acre so to speak if not bigger. I would think places on the coast can do it but is sea world on a coast? I remember it being close to Orlando but don't really remember...
