I have a couple of questions. Just what is the largest chicken you all know about? When I read that story about Nugget on another thread being 32" high I almost thought I was seeing things.

Just how large can they get? Anyone have comparison pictures to share?
Thanks!

My biggest is my Langshan cockerel who is 6 months old:

No wonder folks say they can beat the snot out of cats.

I've never laid eyes on a chicken like that. I'd thought that Nugget I see on this forum was big. Holy cow! They are seriously big!

and believe me, you...that Light Brahma X Buff Orp is one of the biggest hens we've got. She's bigger than the other pure Brahmas. Clyde is the biggest chicken I've ever seen.

Nugget is pretty big too though! Asiatic breeds just seem to be the tallest...at least in my area? I've heard Asils and Shamos can be even taller...but they are rare around my area.

Clyde is beautiful or handsome I guess lol! I'm going to have to go measure the Nuggetron again, I think he's gone up a bit. I need to have stand next to something pre-measured so there is no doubt about his size. The boy is big!

2 years! lol! I used to breed White Jersey Giants. I had one cockerel that didn't stop growing until he was 3 years. I just wish the hens would have laid more eggs...didn't get a single one out of them.

Here is the only rooster we ever had and he was HUGE. He didn't get to finish growing before he was killed. He was the sweetest creature ever (despite the name, we only named him that because his name was Lucy and because he looked very eeeevil) He was a Brahma/Cochin cross. He was five or six months in these.

My big blue Orpington, Sweet Lou! Tuffoldhen gave him to me, along with his brother who is, if you can imagine it, even bigger than he is!

This is Sweet Lou on his first day here, at 5 mo. old, being held by my 250 lb. linebacker, Eli.

Here he is by himself, which isn't much of a comparison with my other chickens, but I will tell you this~ he's approx. the size of a turkey, makes two of my biggest White Rock hens~easily! He makes my youngest Lab look small! He measures a foot across the shoulders and stands about 30 in. tall. And he's only a teenager!
