Wondering if anybody knows what this is? another photo

I was thinking an elephant or emperor hawk moth, but it may very well be Spicebush swallowtail butterfly larvae.

Yes, It must be the spicebusch it certainly has the same characteristics. I had never seen anything like it. It was so unusual and ugly but so cute also. It had a little yellow or tongue it was sticking out at me.

It's not actually the tongue... The part with the eyes that looks like a head is actually the abdomen.. It's to trick the predator into not biting it's head..

But anyway, I remember the time I saw one on our porch. Crazy looking little guys! And they are very still when you look at them. I don't think I ever actually saw our visitor move.
