Wondering if duck has bumble foot. PICTURES INCLUDED

I'm new to this duck raising thing and have noticed this tiny bump with a yellow scab on the bottom of my ducks foot! Was wondering if its the beginning stages of bumble foot or is it normal?

Any opinion would be helpful!!

Bumps with scabs may be bumblefoot. There are times when ducks develop calluses, too, and then scuff the callus.

Is she favoring the foot at all? It seems that there's also a thick spot on the toe on the left as we look at the photograph.

I would lean toward saying that may be bumblefoot.

You can wrap the foot in an Epsom salts compress twice a day for five minutes (if she'll hold still). That will help, and won't hurt. Just keep her from ingesting the Epsom salts, since it is a laxative.

I make a compress by mixing a few tablespoons of Epsom salts into a half cup of warm water, then use a clean rag or paper towels and soak up the solution, wring it out a bit, and then wrap it around the foot while holding the duck.

Yeah I've noticed the random bits of swelling going on and I wasn't too sure. When I googled it, not a whole bunch of information came up and when it did the chicken or duck always had big black scabs on their feet.

She's my baby so I want to do whatever I can to fix it before it gets that bad. So just take a rag and soak it in water and Epsom salt then wrap it around her foot?.. It's that easy? haha.

I seen one post on this where a woman actually done bumble foot surgery herself. I'm afraid I'd hurt her.

Is there any other way to know if bumble foot is the injury?

Oh and no she's not favoring the foot at all. She Gets around great and it doesn't bother her. I'm just worried

If I were you, I would start the Epsom salts compresses twice daily, watch her closely, and see if the swelling goes down. And give extra vitamins once a week, if you aren't already. Just for an immune system boost.

what do you recommend for vitamins?

I use poultry vitamins with electrolytes and probiotics. I order mine online, but most feed stores carry them.

I feel that if I could see the foot I could give a better answer. And I am hoping this is early bumblefoot. Each duck is different. Five ducks might look a certain way, then the sixth will present differently. We do what we can here on the forum, and each person must go with what they think and feel is best, taking or leaving any ideas we may offer.

She may have some kind of splinters. That would make the toes swell. Romy had that once. I took her to the vet and the vet removed the splinter. I couldn't even see it, but the vet found it right away. I really like that vet anyway, and she was my hero that day.
