Here is my situation, I recently had to keep my chickens cooped up for a few days, I have no run at all my birds free range, now the problem I have is when I do let them out, most of the will not go back into the coop, My wife and daughter and myself has to go out and put them into the coop!! I have never had this problem before!! Any suggestions to get them to go into the coop on their own at night?

I had to retrain mine after keeping them in the garage a couple of nights after a coon attack. I physically had to carry them out there after they tried to roost on the patio table. After 4 days they were back in the swing of it.

I can get mine to follow me to that very hot spot and back if I have a coffee can with scratch grain in it.
They can be easily trained to the can. Just feed them scratch out of it and in a few days they will recognize it and follow. I can get mine back into the run or into the coop with this method whenever needed.

I may have to do that, These chickens have been in that coop for almost a year...It was pouring down rain and sleet last night and we had to chase chickens in the dark!!LOL!!
