Won't walk, listless pullet

I'm sorry that she's not improving.

If you've been giving extra calcium citrate this whole time and she's laying regularly, I would taper that off.

Have you tried putting her in a sling to get her upright?

Hens have a pecking order and it would be normal for the healthy ones to pick at one that is weak like this. Unfortunately, this seems to be the nature of things with hens. Hopefully she can still be near them and with them supervised so she can have the stimulation she needs.

Had not thought about a sling! Will give that a go! Hubby and I thought about wrapping her legs to keep them stiff, but a sling sounds better!

Thank you! 🥰

UPDATE!

Millie is still not walking well :hit

She spends 22 - 23 hours in confinement (huge dog carrier). Everyday she is out in the run with the other chickies - supervised - for 1 - 2 hours eating grass, lots of dirt, and bugs.

Still giving her B and Calcium daily along with electrolytes (mixture we found at Fleet Farm) mixed with her food. She's eating and drinking well and laying a good sized eggs everyday!

Hubby is going make a larger area in the shoop for her to move around - about 8x3. She really wants to walk! She flies just fine (well, for a chicken 🐔).

We are experimenting with sitting outside the run while supervising in the hopes our "mother" and "old auntie" hens continue to learn *not* to bully Millie :fl. [Our Barred Rock, Roxy acts the mother hen - and bullies - and our lightest Sapphire Gem, Dove acts like the old aunt - and bullies]

Ideas? Comfort?
UPDATE:

We have determined - with the help of daughter who is a Vet Tech & her Vet - that Millie may well have Merek's. Of course, we'll never know for sure 🫤💔

Thank you for the update.

With her not improving, Marek's would be a good possibility.
Sometimes with supportive care a bird can somewhat recover, other times they don't.

If you happen to lose her and want to know for sure what caused her decline, sending the body to your State Lab for analysis can give you more information. Depending on your state, the services may be free/minimal to very expensive, so you'd have to check that out.

Thank you. We are giving her AAA+++attention and service. With her own condo inside the shoop, private 'spa' time with us in the yard, and gourmet meals. With MN winters, we aren't sure she'll make it to her 1st birthday in March 😭

You know, it can be hard to nail down what's ailing them sometimes.
I do not have experience with this, but some folks are finding that herbal remedies can sometimes offer supportive care.
If you think she has Marek's, then it's something you may want to look into. Some report it's helpful, while others do not see improvement.

Give @Rylandandamy a shout to see if they have any suggestions. Also read up on Chinese Skullcap (Bicillin) here on BYC and I think there's a FB Group as well.

Hello knaranch. We were giving our baby rock this. 2ml every day. My neighbor turned us on to it. I would say it worked well as her symptoms started resolving after a week. However I later learned that mareks also wrecks digestive track allowing parasites to get control. We think this is was sent our rock down hill. Take a look ate our thread linked in previous post for the details. I also link the face book group that has tons of info. I would also bring your chick inside, away from any other health risks. I feel we may made mistakes by letting our baby hang outside in the afternoons with a compromised system.

Thank you, Rylandandamy. I'm sorry about your baby 🥺 I will give this a look. We've discussed bringing her in, but decided it was best for us to not. We know we are taking a chance, but we just can't manage that right now 😭
