I am not easily offended, but THAT is a bit offensive! These birds are 4 months old, they will change DRASTICALLY by 6 months. Do you breed Dels? Do you show them? Just asking....

I'm talking about the birds in the fair photos.

I'm going to hold onto the first one, with the better comb. He's been so impressive, the first chick of the bunch to do everything, even trying to mate the older pullets at 4 months! I'll likely take a bunch more pics before the Oct. show deadline - I hope you all wouldn't mind yaying or naying so I know if it would be a waste to pay for an entry fee.

ETA: I know mine look a bit yellow, but I was taking pictures during a late August 'sunset' in Southern CA. EVERYTHING turns golden then! They are normally quite white. I haven't been able to take new pics of the first one, but his wing is more horizontal than in the pics, he was running around when I got them.

Alicefelldown..like father like son then, on that boy! That's why I kept his daddy! I'm hoping this new little roo I have will be just as handsome and good to his ladies as well. He's just about a month and a half older than yours...I'll try to get pics tomorrow, he just started crowing

Just went up to the NYstate fair..went up to see what the poultry division looked like..It just doesnt look like the birds are getting very good care. Wont be going to that show.
.
Those look more like a very sad sussex cross or something, what was the fad? for hatcheries to boost production, they added something like sussex or columbian , thats what they look like..at least to me .. Not even cleaned up would I want one of those.. no barring in the tails ect... Nasty looking, you would think they would clean them up at least, they dont look l;ike they feel well . almost underweight..God the birds at our county faIR LOOKED BETTER THAN THOSE..

I mean i WORKED FOR A HORSEMAN ONCE WHO WHEN HE WANTED TO SEll INFERIOUR HORSES WITH COW HOCKS ECT... HE WOULD BRING THEM OUT, FEED THEM UP AND GIVE ADDITIVES , REALLY SHINE THEM UP LIKE A CAR AND lets say theres a sucker born every minute , they would but they just cause they were shined up..
these people didnt even bother to shine up the inferior. sad looking souls they are.

one of my freinds birds
just pokin around the back yard, sadly he came home , found him dead after work, there had been a terrible wind storm and they think he literally got blown into the fence, signs blew down around town and everything , I had never seen that man cry until that day. luckily he has a couple of the sons kicking around , they are waiting to see how they deveolpe. Man that rooster had it made, he had his owen luxury rooster pad , heated and fed like a king. wormed ect...ect...the vet said anurism, but rick thinks he was slammed during that storm.in a heap right next to the fence.

This is the best pic I could get...."Pretty Boy" refused to hold still. Several were just a black and white blur

Alicfelldown, this is your boys brother. He has still got a smidge of smut on his back, but so did his daddy at that age. He is running so this pic doesn't show his wing carriage well either. Crazy chickens!

Couldn't get good pics of daddy either

Cindiloo- looks like he has a great bottom line. An APA judge told me that is one of the hardest things to get- that "bowl" shape underneath!
