Woo Hoo I got a new roo!

I saw a fine-looking young RIR rooster on Craigslist this morning for $5, so I went and got myself an early Christmas present. He's currently by himself in the chicken yard, and he and my Black Rock roo are bobbing and fluffing their feathers at each other through the chicken wire. It's funny. Hopefully I'll have some RIR chicks this spring if somebody goes broody!

Okay, okay--first I gotta put a memory card in the camera and then I gotta figure out how to post them. Which will have to wait until I get back from church. It is Christmas Eve, after all.

Okay, I think I figured this out. Here's a picture of the new roo. Isn't he handsome? (I really do like Rhode Island Reds....)

Okay, now that that's done and the first kiddo is packed off to bed, it's time to start stuffing stockings.

He's a really good-looking boy! He has great color. Nice comb, too, though it looks like he maybe had it pecked a little in places. I'm sure with lots of love and attention, he'll heal up nicely.
