Help!!

We had planned on getting a coop and run built this fall so we could start our own peeps. Well, one of our cats brought home a baby chick. It appears to only be a day or two old and, thankfully, came through without a scratch. I don't know where it came from so I guess she's home now.

I just created a log in and this is my first post. I know I need to run to the feed store and get a few items like chick crumbles / starter, pine shavings, a waterer and some type of feeder. Anything else I'll need to get? Will look to see if they have other chicks that are about the same age as I know chicks are social and she would like some company.

If anyone can tell from the picture, I'd like to know the breed. We live in NW Phoenix and its 112 right now. Nothing like jumping right in. Wish us luck.

I just received 5 Silkie chicks from my pet chicken yesterday. They are all doing fine. They were all huddled under their packing material. Very satisfied with this company. Talked on the phone with personel and very good response from them.

I don't think I would worry about having them shipped to you. The package they arrive in is insulated from the heat and the cold.
