What do I do now? My wife, who just spent 2 hours videoing this chicks birth with her I-phone wants to put something soft like cotton in there so she'll be comfortable

You could put a little stuffed animal for it to snuggle up to.

If it's the only one, it's gonna chirp like crazy when it comes around. I, too, suggest a small stuffed critter and a small mirror. Worked for me.

DON'T OPEN IT YET!! It's very bad for the chick. Let him/her dry off first. That towel will be plenty to keep him/her warm and comfortable.

Be patient and let it dry off. Besides it is going to sleep a lot the first day, and I do mean a lot because it used a lot of energy getting out! Also congrats on the hatch.
