I noticed that my chick, a bantom silky has a pine shaving attached to her wing, like it is stuck in her fluff. Its been on her for a hour or two, should i just leave it alone and she will get it out herself or should i cut it out?

:welcome

You can take a warm, damp cloth to it to loosen it from her feathers. Try not to pull it off if it doesn't come off easily because you can accidentally pull off some of her down feathers.

Hi there! Is it hurting her or preventing her from doing something in the regular way? If the wood chip is just stuck to her fluff, there is no need to do anything about it IMO. It will come off eventually. My chicks get things stuck on them all the time—wood chips, dirt, feathers, even poo. It always comes out within a couple days, no need to worry about it as long as it’s not hurting her :).

It appears to just be stuck in her fluff. Thank you so much 😅
