Wood duck care?...

Sounds good. My mergansers just started laying a few days ago (at least I think they are merganser eggs). I have not caught her in the box, but the male has been doing the breeding call for a couple months now. I left a message with my local florida fish and wildlife officer so I should find out something soon.

The merganser eggs are nearly all round like an over sized golf ball, not much of a taper to them like other oval shaped eggs, and slightly off white....I asked first arherp!!

BTW, I like the way you think on your birds - those red breasted mergansers are HOT

I HEAR YA, FINDERS FEE IT IS THEN!!

Yes I had all the other merganser and smew before, but never had the red breasted, they were VERY rare back then, not that they arent now, but I know a guy with some at least, just $1000 a pair give or take a couple hundred!! Also want to get back my eiders. Really loved them, and surprisingly, they did very well here in south Georgia for an arctic seaduck, even reproduced every year. Just had the commons then, but would love to get my hands on some king, specticaled and stellers, as well as harlequins and old squaw.
A pair of all those would cost as much as everyother species I would have put together though!! They would average about $2500 per pair... Dream big I always say

I used to be in the high end ball python industry, so it has prepped me for 1k+ animals... If only I had the money now that I had then...

Got some good news after calling Florida fish and wildlife. Turns out I actually am allowed to keep the woods, mandarins, and mergansers in my neighborhood. I just have to get a permit that is $50 a year. So between that and the federal permit it looks like $125 a year in permits, but at least now I can legally keep and sell my stuff.
