Wood Duck help.

So yesterday my wood duck male broke 2 pin feathers on his tail, while cleaning his pen. We took him into the vet and got the bleeding to stop. Now the problem I am having is getting him to take his med. We try opeing his mouth with no luck. The vet recommended to put it on bread. I don't feed my ducks bread. Is there any other trick anyone would have?

Lord , all that's not needed...just pull out the 2 blood feathers. They will stop bleeding right away. If you leave them in, every time the get bumped, they will start to bleed again. With any type of fowl, it's for the birds own good to remove broken blood feathers. Just give it a good yank and it's all over with, and they'll grow back on the next molt. No vet or anitbiotics needed.
You're good not to give them bread too, hi carbs are bad for all waterfowl
