Wood shavings

Depends.... How good is your singing? ;)

Good luck with the hatching. :)
You are so right. But if I do say so, others say he sings well and one kid in my parish named Tommy said about me, "he thinks he can sing" but you are right.
I just went to the incubator and 2 more hatched!!

Hello all,
Havent been on site in a long while. We have since moved and my girls have their own safe fenced area where they are able to free range safely. I do hope that someone can help me. I had two beautiful buff orphingtons. Ruth and Esther. I found Ruth dead about two weeks ago. No obvious signs of trauma. Her sister Esther seems to be pining. I am worried I will lose her as well. I have a barred rock who keeps attacking her now. Her and her sister were so close and ran together. Could she be grieving the loss of Ruth? I do believe it and she is now on my back porch and she won't eat much and will not run around. I am giving her mostly fruit, that seems to b all she will eat. Does anyone have any advice for me. She is soooooo precious. Thank-you, Julie

Just fruit is not good, the chicken may have diarrhea. This is a sad story, it sounds like the hen does miss the missing chicken. As you know any new chicken will be driven off by the rest. You might just let her have time with you and time can be a cure.
