I like fly traps, I had a terrarium with a couple of different carnivorous plants before. Don't use potting soil for it, they do not take nutrients up through the roots. Peat moss, or peat mixed with perlite is recommended. And never feed it raw meat, you can get small crickets from most pet stores, or catch small insects outside as long as no pesticides, fertilizers or other chemicals are used. Also, they need a dormancy period. They are not tropical plants, they come from swampy areas of the East coast. Remember not to let the soil dry out, and they like a good amount of light too.
I just got three venus flytrap plants. They're adorable. I collected some fresh rainwater for them, I hope it isn't too cold for them. It should warm up, but when I gave it to them it was very fresh and freezing. No ice, though.
