Woohoo, it’s fall!

Luckily I don't have to rake leaves here.
Only if they get nice and dry do I bother gathering any of them.
I bough paper yard sacks to store some last year, on your suggestion and was excited to use them.
Alas, it was very wet fall last year, including 2' of snow in Nov.

Yeah some years I get a lot less than others... so I end up with a stack of paper sacks waiting for the next year. If I just can't get leaves to dry out then I load up the compost bin and the rest go straight into the run.
 
Dry leaves definitely shred more easily! the dry brown ones have been processed by the chickens but the reds and yellows are stubbornly intact.
Yeah, I wouldn't use any other than the very dry ones in the run, especially for storage.
