We had 3 Ameracauna e g g s under our OE Bantam since the 14th...
so we weren't ready, since today is only day 18 of incubation..
but DD said "Mom! I hear peeping!" and sure enough-- one was pipped! that was around 11a.m... of course-- we ended-up having to "mildly" assist by partially "zipping" the shell (it only had a small hole still by 8pm....I'm sure it is because our humidity in the house is only around 45% at best.
Momma is happy as can be-- and a beautiful fuzz butt is fluffed, chirping and peeking out as we speak! WOO HOO!
Keep your fingers crossed for us that at least one more hatches!
