I am so excited I could bounce off the walls right now, lol. I brought my button quail home @ a day old after trying to find some for 15-20 years & now they have come full circle. My first chick hatched a while ago & is nestled into the brooder. Still 8 more eggs to go & 10 more due in a couple of weeks! I'll add pics asap when I can get to the library.

Edit: At the library lol, pics added! Sorry but this is all I could get at the moment, the little rascal is FAST!

Thanks! Hoping I'll have one or two more by the time I get home. If not I really need to put a tiny stuffed animal or something in with the little guy, I hate for him/her to be alone, lol

A cheap feather duster, just leaned in a corner, works wonders for calming chicks. One chick or 20 it dont matter, they love it. gives them a feeling of security I believe.... Bill

Wow, thanks such a handy tip! I have 4 now, with a 5th pipping, woohoo, lol.

Thanks guys! -beams in sheer delight- I could not have done it without the wealth of info as well as the kind, genuinely helpful people here. Ohh by the way I now have another pair laying, & six very healthy, bouncy chicks, time to check the id info as I am unsure what colors they'll be. Two are dark with yellow striped heads & white wingtips, have not had any chicks like that before.
