Woot! My silkies are due on Valentine's Day

We had that nasty weather up here too but no power outages. I called home at least a dozen times from work to make sure my answering maching picked up to prove the power was still on!
Anyway, I'm sure I'll popping on for progress reports throughout the day tomorrow! My 5 are due on the 23rd, the day before DH's birthday. 3 are silkies! Can't wait to see yours!!!!

I woke up to two babies in the incubator. They must have just hatched as they were still wet. Now...don't ask...I'm not opening the bator to take any pics until the hatch is considerred complete. I promise to post pics when everyone is moved to the brooder.

Maybe I will try to take some through the bator window later today cuz we all know my nose is going to be glued to it anyways. lol

We didn't lose power last night (thank goodness), but the wind is still going and limbs are dropping off the trees. I am hoping it holds out for my hatch to finish today.

Sorry the pic is not good, but it is thru the incubator window. Two have nice vaults so I am happy to see that. More to come, I am sure.

ohhhh I never tire of seeing cute little chicks!!!! Congrats and I hope some more hatch out for you! I have one week left on mine!

This is a preset hovabator. I don't recall the model number and it is our first time hatching in it. I usually just incubate in them and use our home made hatcher but didn't want to take chances in my cold basement. My big hatches go in my GQF Sportsman and Brinsea OvaEasy. We're getting ready to set those up soon for spring orders.

They do look tired, don't they. lol Right before I snapped that pic, they were standing looking up at me..then they laid down. I wanted a pic of them looking up at me, but it got blurry.

We're up to 4 chicks and another one working it's way around the shell.

Lots and lots of pips, so I expect more.
