I got my eggs!!! YIPEEEE Thank you for the extras!!!
There were two broken - one Arucana (white I think) and one EE - they must have had a horrible trip!! (I have 7 of each now)
Your eggs are HUGE - I opened up and my jaw hit the floor
Some of the unbroken eggs got some goop on them - not much but should I clean it off or leave them? I have them in a little basket right now to rest - still waiting for the dang bator to arrive.....
I'm getting the Hova 1588 I believe its the pre-set one also called the Genesis...
Edit to add: I think those broken ones were the ROO's.... cause the rest look like pullets to me
I'm sorry to hear they broke two, but so glad I sent some extras just in case. I wouldn't clean the goop and I'm sure they'll be fine. I hope the remaining egsg are pullet eggs. LOL Let me know how they do for you. Hope your bator gets there soon.
Remember to set it up and make sure it is stable for a good 24 hours before putting the eggs in and you should do well.
I think I was up to 7 babies last I looked. Gosh, they are taking their good ole pokey time with this hatching business. I don't think I'll get to play with fuzzies tonight.
Just wanted to update you all on the hatch. They were busy hatching through the night and I see lots of babies in there.
Not sure on the exact count..maybe around 16 or so and I still see more pips. I will wait a bit longer to give the others a chance to hatch without interupting the environment. I'll keep you posted.
Another update...I have 23 silkie chicks. I have moved 20 of them to the brooder, so took some pics for you all. 3 are still in the hatcher drying. I don't see anything happening on the last 4 eggs, so the hatch may be complete. I hope you enjoy.
Hey, I recognize those! You have a dark one in there too! What are you going to do with all those fuzzy butts?
They are too cute! Thanks for the pics.
