Yep, and then realized while copying it that I had already canceled out the E in that position.

I had to check my word lists…. There are only 7, five letter words with ELO in the middle. *

Ok. Maybe I am a tad nerdy.

Looked around a bit and apparently-

Volume 6 of Office's Scrabble Dictionary claims there are 8,996 available words with five letters.

Wordle has a list of 2,315 words which can appear as answers, and a list of 10,657 rather more obscure words which are allowed as guesses but will never appear as answers.

Of those 2,315 words how many have ELO in the middle!

I assume the list of 10,657 obsure words include foreign words or proper nouns not allowed in Scrabble.

They should make the list of 2,315 words available for us to memorize.


Also there are lists of words you can purchase with letters that go before or after certain words and letters.

Some nerds bought these books.

I went to an old 5 letter word list I happen to have around here to count the ELO words.

There are books with cool words and had ons

I guess Wordle needs to hire me to make there puzzles. We could expand their vocabulary.


I have tried some words that I know are words and Wordle rejected them. In their defense many of them were four letter words with an S on them. The same words some moderators object too.
