Anybody have this program? I have happily used WordPerfect 6.1 for years. Unfortunately it will not run on Windows 7 so I bought WordPerfect Office X5. I have found that the Powers That Be have improved the word processing program to the point it is virtually unuseable by a dinosaur like me. All I want to do is write a letter. In the old program to write a letter, I would click file, open, new, letter. Then it would give me options for formatting my letter. I used a standard pre made template. On the box my new program came in it boasts that there are over 200 templates in this program. Whoopee!! I can't seem to access any of them. And it isn't as if I haven't tried. The closest I have come was in HELP and it said something about categories. I haven't found that either. I tried contacting support but so far that has been an exercise in futility. Any ideas?

Microsoft Word. It's been the standard for YEARS now in the workplace. If I want a job, I better know KNOW Word. Unless it is with the legal profession, then I better KNOW Word Perfect. And I do not.

You crack me up! I used to know WP forwards, backwards and sideways, then Novell bought them out, changed everything and they went downhill. There was brief period of popularity with Ami Pro, a Lotus product (Lotus 1-2-3 was the old Excel), the Microsoft rocked the entire planet.

I am not in the legal profession although I do have an AA degree to become a paralegal. I just like to write. I do have Word. I hate it. It came with the computer. I find it awkward and uncomfortable to use. The only thing I like about it is the animated paper clip. If I can't figure out the new WordPerfect I am going to be stuck with Word for a while. I have another computer that I am going to have the hard drive erased and then I can install Windows 98 on it. That way I can run my WordPerfect 6.1 and some of the games I like that will not run on Windows 7.

I really want to be in charge of a small section of Hell. In it I want to put the inventor and users of the sitcom laugh tracks, merchandisers that start playing Christmas music before Halloween, and, most importantly, the people in software design and development that change stuff just because they can, with no thought to actually improving the product and in the process just make it more complicated and difficult to use.
