Woried... My Male Pekin turning yellow

I dont know much about molting. Im a first time duck owner. When do they usually molt? He is 6months and ive never seen any of them molt before

I'm willing to bet he's just going through a molt. :) Is he shedding feathers? Do you notice straw-like bits of shed quill coverings on the ground where he sleeps? Is he preening more often than usual, or scratching himself more often?

Since I am having a hard time seeing the yellow could it be the waxy oil from his oil gland? Sometimes when my solid white Muscovy has an abundance of waxy oil it will make her feathers yellow especially if she spreads it out over them. Very noticeable on a solid white duck.

I really don't think it's necessary...as long as he's still acting normally, I really do think he's just in the middle of a molt. It's normal in white ducks. My Wobbles is going through the exact same thing, the vet even said she looks like a popcorn-flavored Jelly Belly! :p

Here's some more info on white ducks and their strange yellow-molting:

I noticed today my male Pekins have sorta a yellowish tint to them also. They just finished a molt (thank god....looks like 2 Pekins blew up in my yard
