Work from Home-ers... I need advice

Well I work from home as a customer rep for a chicken hatchery. It allows me the chance to stay home, work and be with my animals and still be the mom to my three kids. I also make and sell candles, scendted wax covered teddy bears and ragballs. I also dabble in creating webpages for local businesses and organizations. Like most moms, I wear many, many hats. I hold a degree in nursing, but was very burned out on it. Best of luck to you.

If I remember right.. it may have been right here from a hatchery that we hear alot about

Anything that deals with animals is dangerous to me. I used to work at a pet store. Man the amount of stuff I got would make some peeps drool. That's how I got into saltwater fish and reefs. Now that's a dangerously and expensive hobby. But I'm much better now that I've found chickens...ROFL!

My personal suggestion comes from something my grandparents said when I was young. "Look at what you like to do when you are not working and turn that into your business. If your going to be your own boss you have to love what you are doing or it will fail." I have lived by that for over 20 years and have owned my own businesses and worked at a distance with others. I couldn't do 9-5 now.

Carribrown, what do you do now?

I would suggest not trying something new, but work on what you're doing now you might need to change some things, but chances are you can do that job at home - well unless you work in a supermarket or something!

I've worked in an office all my life almost! Now I'm working from home - I'm in Finance.
I had this same job when I was in San Diego - after some negotiating etc..... I now do the same job from home in Nebraska - TRUST me it was difficult to PROOVE I could do it before I actually DID IT - but its going on 2 months now and all is well!
Find someone doing the same job YOU do but doing it at home, and talk to them - see if you can perhaps do what I did and talk your current employer into letting you telecommute!

Isn't that the truth. I keep trying to tell my husband that. I told him I wanted a job that felt like I was playing. I wanted a job that almost made me feel guilty for drawing a paycheck. That's when you know you are doing what you love.
