Worm or egg?!?

There's a great article called "How to DeWorm Chickens" written by Nicole Gennetta that covers how to worm chickens safely. I'd be happy to share the link if anyone would like.

Looks like she recommends Albendazole, Fenbendazole, Ivermectin, Levamisole, and Piperazine, for treatment of Roundworms. OP is treating with Fenbendazole (Safeguard), so this should take care of the roundworms that she's seeing - sounds like she's got it right:)

These shouldn't interfere with Fenbendazole. Are you thinking the de-wormer is not working? If so, then what are you seeing to make you think that?
No, nothing is pointing to it not working, just thought I read it somewhere and didn’t want to mess it up.

I have mentioned I thought this hen has ascites but her abdomen is very full and she is not showing any signs of feeling sick. Her poops have been very liquidy and solid. Like she has a normal poop but this soy sauce kind of material is with it. I will take a picture of it later because it is hard to describe. Can the worms cause bloating of the abdomen or is there anything else that can make her abdomen so large? I can’t really say it feels like liquid in it... I’m thinking worms or egg related problems could be occurring

Round worms are robbing her of the nutrients from food she eats and slowing digestion down .This can cause sour crop.

I was not talking about crop issues, which I know can occur, I was referring to her large abdomen

Is this the older hen that's not been well off and on for while?

A hen can go a good long time with a full abdomen. If she's not showing any signs of feeling sick at this time, then I would just finish de-worming her and enjoy her.

Ascites (fluid in the abdomen) is a symptom. Some common causes are fluid in the abdomen are organ failure/dysfunction and reproductive disorders. Again, if she's acting fine, then I would leave her be.
