wormer

ok need help I have had my chickens for two years now and didn't know about wormers. I have goats and horses that get wormed but didn't know you worm chickens can I get some help on this I bought Wazine but says on bottle don't use on egg layers. Somewhere I saw someone on here who used Wazine but not to eat eggs for two weeks. then if I use the ivermectin is it safe to eat the eggs or how long do you not eat them would love some help.

So when using this wormer, leave the treated water in the pen for 2-3 days? But you have to make a new fresh batch each day correct?

Andie2u Whichever wormer you go with I would not eat the eggs for 2 weeks period. If you have had your chickens for two years running I doubt seriously you have worms anyway. Most of us pheasant raisers dont eat the eggs. But if you did want to eat them..... since they are seasonal layers we know to worm them before spring(January being a good month for this btw or after they are done laying being another good time) For quail 247. With wazine you just need to shake it or stir it. You do not have to make a new batch each day.

Ivomectin will work in the water, mix enough for the day and then replace with fresh water. can repeat four to five weeks later but birds should be wormed at least a month before laying, it's to hard on them to be dewormed and keep laying. J.R.C Utah.

Yes, you can put it in water, too. But I forget which one it is, one 'kind', the drench I believe, isn't water soluble. Putting it in water is more expensive than giving it to each bird orally, but easier for sure.
