Worming Chicks

I plan on getting my first chicks this weekend. Should I worm them when they're this small since I won't be getting eggs anyway?

I've also read of DE as a preventative in their food. Would you recommend that for chicks?

I wouldn't worm them, they are so small and delicate and have not been exspose to the outside.

When would be a good time for a first worming?

I can't imagine any reason to worm them unless you see that they have worms.

I worm my birds once with wazine 1month before there due to lay and then a second time in the spring after they have started laying
With rooster wormer. This my personal practice and by no means the right or wrong way to raise chickens everyone has there own management style

There is a products out there that you can use and still eat the eggs. I bought mine at Tractor supply the product is Durvet strike lll dewormers
