Worming Dilemma

We eat the eggs after worming. I'm still here typing. If you think that you might be allergic to the ingredients or someone else in your family, toss them in the garbage. I wouldnt give any away nor sell them neither.

Haha! I can only eat eggs if they’re drowned in hot sauce and covered in bacon. Scrambled eggs make me nauseas.. thankfully I have plenty of egg eating dogs and family members.

Mmmmmm I do the same, including scrambled eggs lol. My wife doesnt understand how I can "ruin" perfectly good eggs with hot sauce haha. We think alike!

I wasn't thinking about that. Tes just said she had dogs that liked to eat eggs. I wanted to make sure she knew that not only dogs and neighbors can eat her future eggs but her birds can too.

No matter how minute the residue is in eggs after worming, (for most wormers and antibiotics,) there's always the risk of increasing worm resistance to the product the next time it's used in poultry. It may require increasing dosage or rotating to a different medication. We see this in the FDA's recent ban on most antibiotics including a couple of good legitimate poultry wormers that were removed off the market.
There are other things that can enhance wormer effectiveness in poultry as well, but most chicken owners are afraid to do it, or wont do it.

I know about worming resistance haha, my dogs and chickens eat plenty of eggs but not the ones from after worming for that reason.

I’m a vet assistant, but I’m still learning about chickens. If it applies to dogs as well then I’m set.

Dogs can handle residue in eggs, no problem. The exception being ivermectin or a ivermectin derivitive if the dog is a collie or sheepdog...risky at best I would think. You probably know this already.
