So I decided I would go with the DL method for keeping my quail. I also let them out of the coop sometimes to let them find bugs and such to eat. I know I need to worm them because of higher chances of them accumulating worms. I want to stick with something natural and I found a lovely worming recipe online but its for chickens.

http://tomatotales.com.au/chicken-worming-the-organic-and-low-cost-treatment/ This is a link to the recipe.

Would this work for quails?

If not, what are some other natural methods to worm coturnix, bobwhite, and button quail.

If I can't find any good natural methods I will use a store bought wormer.
So, what are some good deworming products that I can pick up from my local feed store. I currently have Wazine, which I used for my chickens when I thought they had worms.

Thank you for your time.

There is lots of debate as to whether these homemade recipes actually work. I have heard that the tannins in pumpkin can kill intestinal worms, but they have to eat it exclusively for 2 full weeks. And this recipe here is most likely just like pumpkin. The only way to really know is to take a poop sample into the vet to see if they have worms, then use this recipe and then have the poop retested.

Wazine is excellent to use on your quail. It takes care of the most common of worms, the round worm. You can also use safeguard paste. It takes care of most worms. The liquid safeguard goat wormer will take care of every worm except tape worms, which are not all that common.

But round worms are the most common and Wazine will take care of them well.
