Worming with Wazine

Hope you know that I'm not trying to be mean, it's just that this misinformation that people keep finding is a pet peeve of mine.

Couple of questions... How's your math, and would you believe me if I told you Amprol was the same as Corid? If you are willing to believe that I can show you the direction for Amprol that state very clearly what that the dose is more than 2 ml per gallon.

Sulmet is too hard on the bird's system It contains sodium sulfamethazine. Sulfadimethoxine is much safer and kills Coccidia that Amprolium won't. I'd use Corid for 5 days at 1 tsp per gallon of water. Then run Probios and vitamins in the water for 3 days. If after that you see no symptoms, run Sulfadimethoxine powder at .5 tsp per gallon of water for 3 days only. That is what I do.

BTW Dawg, I thought Corid (Amprolium) only was effective against E. zurnii and E. bovis strains of coccidia.

The post from Michael Apple is quite old. The amount suggested in that post would be for a "moderate" outbreak, but I think you will find that most people will treat all outbreaks with the "severe" dose, which is 9.5 ml (~2 teaspoons) per gallon.
