worms in hen

my chicken has been pooping and has had what I think is round worms in it. I gave her worm medicine in her water and she is still pooping worms.I'm not sure if the worms are dead or not. does anybody know if the worms will die once they come out of the hen or not? How long will it take for her to poop out all of the dead worms if in fact they are dead. Help please if anybody knows anything about worms in hens.

Worms cannot survive outside the host. They are either dead or dying.
If you used Wazine which is mixed in water, large roundworms will be flushed out shortly after absorption which doesnt take long. You may see several excreted a day or two later.
It would help to know what wormer you used as Casportpony asked.

im not sure what type of worms they were. I think round worms but seemed bigger than them or wider.

Pictures would be really helpful. Maybe in the morning you can find a dropping under a roost that has them and get one. Different worms sometimes require different medications. Usually the only ones visible are round worms or tape worms, unless there are maggots which are not actually worms and have an entirely different cause. Alternately you could search online for an image that is what you saw. Worms die once they leave the body regardless of whether they've been treated or not. Sometimes following treatment some will be expelled, but a bird carrying a heavy load will also expel some on occasion also. Wazine only works on large roundworms, so if you are dealing with tape worm it would not be effective. Tape worm usually resembles grains of rice (that move if fresh), but on occasion a large worm could be expelled, so best to know for sure which it is. Any possibility your vet will do a fecal for you to identify them?

Here's pics of large roundworms. They can grow up to about 5 inches in length.
