A couple of weeks ago I got this lovely, named Vladimir:
She's been quarantined and treated for a mite infestation, and her poop has been looking normal until this morning, when I found this:
I've never had chickens with worms (at least worms that I could see), and I'm not even positive these are worms. All the pictures online are washed, sterilized, or magnified out of recognition. I wish they'd show pictures of worms still in the poop! I am planning on taking a sample to the vet on Tuesday, but I thought I'd check on here in the meantime. What is this? Is it something obvious like roundworms or something, and I'm just getting confused by the mess?
I think it would be fantastic if people started taking pictures of wormy poop and posting them. After going through pages of parasites that look like they've just been groomed for show, I'm feeling terribly frustrated and wishing there were pictures more comparable to what I'd find in the barnyard. I'm just glad I didn't give in to pressure from my SO to let her mingle with the other chickens as soon as I got rid of the mites. I'm glad this forum stresses quarantining so much
