On what part of the chicken did you find it on? Usually, external parasites congregate under the wings, on the saddle, under the vent and in the hackles (commonly behind the ears). It is totally normal for chickens to pick up a few here and there. It is when they get to more than just a couple now and then that they cause a problem.
